        *Update***From owner->"It's highly unusual that a car who's "engine loses compression" is determined to be "junked"." ****Me-->It is when you get a $11,500 estimate for repair form Belize Volkswagen***** Bought a 2009 VW GTI 2 door hatchback for my son's 1st car, cash, $8,000, on November 29th, 2023 from Prime Cars. 2,000 miles and 3 and 1/2 months later, engine loses compression, had to junk it. Total loss....There needs to be some from of consumer protection. Not necessarily blaming Prime, but....just consumer beware.... VW service diagnosed, Cylinder 1,2,4 had normal 170 PSI compression, #3 had 120 PSI. Estimate from VW, $8000 for the engine, $3500 labor....

      Bill, we are so sorry for your experience with the VW. We do our due diligence to go through each car before we sell it to every customer. Unfortunately, we can not predict the future for ANY cars that have over 100k miles driven, this is why we ALWAYS offer an extended warranty for up to 60 months or 100k miles in order to have a peace of mind in such cases as your own. I wish that we could have been the ones to diagnose the original problem. It's highly unusual that a car who's "engine loses compression" is determined to be "junked".
