We've always had excellent service from 2nd Wind. We have a contract with them and the are also very prompt for emergency calls. Indeed, we found water I our downstairs mother-in-law suite and thought it was coming from an AC/heating area. Art and Aaron came out did a thorough inspection and found it was a water/sewer back up. They called plumber Jeff and he fixed the problem ASAP. In the interim they recommended Rumsey C & R for cleanup, etc and they came our forwith, and started what will be a long process. So, all of the above are to be commended!! Dr. Richard Conant

I needed an annual mandatory BackFlow water test done for my home. I found 2nd Wind Heating and Air from a Google search stating that they performed this service. When the technician, Jeff, came out he told me that the test could go smoothly or there could be an issue with the test where I would have to pay more than the expected $50 for the test to be performed. After working outside for about 15 minutes, he approached me stating that he was unable to test the unit because he didnt have a tool small enough to run the second part of the test. He stated that the only solution would be for me to change the location of the testing valves to gain better access. After writing the quote, he told me that it would cost $930 for this service and he could come back out the following Monday. After the shocking news, I asked him for the past 7 years how have the other companies been testing my system, and he stated they may have done a drive-by test because my system was impossible to test. He then tells me that he is going to report that my system failed to the City of Columbia even though he never tested it. He still charged me $50 and then thanked me for my military service. Afterwards, I called the City of Columbia and they stated that 2nd Wind was not a company they were very familiar with and recommended a different service provider. Jeff did state that he just got into the BackFlow water testing, in addition to Heating and Air. The City of Columbia also mentioned that the $930 quote was extreme because that particular job only costs between $200-$250. It was with this new information that I decided to schedule with the recommended vendor. I will update my review once recommended vendor completes the task. I dont think I will use this company for any of their services from here on out. Very disappointed. ***Update*** The vendor recommended by the City of Columbia tested my system and it passed with no problem. Looks like I didnt need to pay $930 after all.
