If I could give a billion stars, I would. I started going here for years at the recommendation of a coworker and have never looked back. Dr. Perkins and staff are fantastic and incredibly knowledgeable. They take the time to explain everything and have gained my full trust when it comes to my vision care. I highly recommend you try them out.

Wow! I have been wearing glasses since the first grade(32 now), so needless to say I have been to many an eye exam. Dr. Perkins is by far and away the most knowledgeable and professional optometrist I have ever seen. He brought new insights into eyecare and overall health in a funny and approachable way. His office is clean and very organized. The appointment was supposed to be just for me, but now I will be sending my whole family here. What a great experience, from an exceptional doctor. Added bonus is his office takes Tricare!! If there was a downside, it would be that he was almost too efficient. I could have spent a couple hours talking to Dr. Perkins!

I went in for an eye exam, just wanted to say how sweet everyone there was. I was a bit anxious but Dr. Perkins worked with me and Im very thankful for people like him.

Written on Nov 7th:  Since I have moved here I have yet to find a new optometrist and was hoping that Perkins would be the place.  They are very friendly and have a relaxing decorated office in Park Circle.  Dr Perkins and the staff were friendly and professional.  The office is decorated to give a nice relaxing mood. I have to say I was a little disappointed in the amount of glass frames for selection.  Many are ,also, of the same style and I almost didn't find anything I was happy with.  I did opt for something a out of my comfort zone.  I do feel that the associates were still in the learning phase of the job and was not able to give me great suggestions based on experience of what looks good on different faces and colors.  Everyone has to learn sometime. I was most disappointed when I was checking out I was not offered a receipt with the breakdown of charges but most importantly was charged $39 that I found was REQUIRED to have a pic your eyes instead of the older way of dilating your eyes to see the health of the back of your eyes.  If I was informed ahead of time I might have decided to go ahead with it but I believe a customer needs to be informed of anything that would be considered 'out of the normal charges.  I honestly believe this should have been brought to my attention when making my appointment.  What if I decided I was not able to afford extra charges or did not want to pay it, I would have had to leave and start from scratch and find another Dr and wait for another appointment.  I will say that when I showed my dissatisfaction I was offered a refund of this charge and they apologized.  I did appreciate that greatly.Written on Dec 2nd:   WOW! I wrote all of the above right after I left having my exam and picking out the glasses.  I certainly am changing the number of stars from a 4 down to a 2.  I went in to pick up my glasses today and left without them and a refund.  The associate was helping get them fit correctly on my face by adjusting them.  She was doing small changes at a time so it was taking a few times which is fine.  Out of the blue Dr Perkins decided to come and take over with the adjustment.  I felt they were sitting low and my eyes were at the very top half of the lenses. He told me that is the way they will sit on my face and that is correct because I have a narrow  nose bridge.  He, also, stated that all of the glasses in his store would do the same.  I explained I have yet to ever have a problem finding glasses that i am happy with to fit my narrow nose bridge (in the over 30 years of wearing glasses) and that if none of these will fit how I would like I shouldn't have gotten my glasses here. He said "I am the professional " and he knows how glasses are going to fit my face.  So I let him know with the attitude I was getting from him that maybe I will not be taking these home and I will go somewhere else and he stormed off talking to himself in the back office.  He returned to the front again told me that I was supposed to call my insurance to get the refund for the insurance.  Not sure how that would have worked out since I am not the one refunding the money to them.  I let him know that was their job.  So very disappointed how this ended.  The girls are very polite and patient. Just wished the whole interaction would have been the same.
