We want to be as transparent as possible with our customers, so we will address all issues in this review. 1. Kody said that we wrote this ticket up as a sale. That is true, but we would like to note that we absolutely did not switch it from a pawn to a sale. Pawn shops prefer to loan someone money over buying their items, so we have no motive to switch it to a buy since it's less preferable to us. We thought it was a sale when Kody was in the store. Kody signed the ticket stating that it was a sale. We also provided him with the exact copy of the ticket he signed as well. However, communication errors can and do occur. We could have made a mistake in this situation, so we took Kody's word for it and attempted to make things right from Kody's perspective.2. After selling us the Xbox, he called in a few weeks later to check on the item. We told him it sold because we bought it from him. Kody was frustrated on the phone, and we get that. Communication errors happen, as we mentioned. We told Kody that we would treat it as a loan and simply replace his Xbox. He agreed to this. Once one was available, we called Kody and he came down to the store. We do not think the system was "beat up" at all as he mentions, and he was not forced to get that specific one, and could have waited for any Xbox he wanted. That's quite alright with us. We simply told him we would call when one became available, and that's what we did. Unfortunately, this is where Kody went over the top. Once he arrived at the store, he explained that he now wanted to keep the cash we gave him in addition to receiving the replacement Xbox completely free. Clearly that isn't logical. We listened to Kody and treated the situation as a pawn, as he agreed to when he found out that his Xbox had sold. We're unclear as to why he now thought he should both get over $200 cash from us, and receive the replacement Xbox for free as well. 3. Kody is correct when stating that he was mad, but he left out a few key details. We will spare you most of those details, but will mention that he became so irate about an Xbox that he had to be trespassed from the store by Sioux Falls Police.Thankfully, 99.99% of our customers in Sioux Falls are great as expected. This individual is one of three people that have been trespassed from our store in nearly 6 years of operation.
