The hotel is quiet, it is very well located, but it needs more maintenance. I stayed two nights and the housekeeping service did not change my towels or take out my trash. When I entered the room the first night the microwave was dirty on the inside and the shower curtain was also dirty on top. I guess when they did the cleaning they thought it was clean and they didn't change it. One of the beds had the main sheet stained in two places, you can see that it had been washed but it was stained, they should throw that away, it looks very bad, it is disgusting to lie on a bed knowing that the sheets are stained From the first night one of the elevators was dirty, with a plate of food and garbage on the floor, I left the hotel on the second day and it was still dirty The breakfast area is neglected, perhaps there are not enough staff in charge of that area and the guests are getting dirty and there is no one to clean. 3/28/24: Reading recent reviews, my impression now is that the owner is mostly rhetoric, and little if any action in his responses. I don't think I'll be returning to this location. Previous: I've stayed at the City view location several times, and recently, it's become more disappointing with each stay. This time, I stayed in Room 231 for two nights. For starters, the TV was an irritating issue. You can't turn the TV on with the remote control, and in fact the remote on the first night did nothing! Even after the desk clerk changed batteries. I had to turn the TV on at the set. And I could only get ABC, which had New Year's Rockin Eve on. If I tried to change channels at the set, it went into analog and "snow". The next day, another desk clerk gave me another remote. I still had to turn on the TV at the set. Then, I could use the remote to go through the guide and select my channel. But, it fought me all the way, and I had to click the remote numerous times for the TV to respond, to move up or down the guide, or select the channel. Sometimes selecting the channel turned off the TV instead. Next, the walk-in shower leaked on the floor. I don't know how that happened with the closed sliding doors. Calling the desk, I got the response that housekeeping was not on the property for the holiday. I wiped it up myself as best I could, then contacted Wyndham Customer Care. I wanted to be assured I wouldn't be deemed at fault for any damage due to the leak. The CSR contacted the desk himself and had the clerk check my bathroom. I guess I did a good job wiping it up because he said there was little water. Finally, breakfast. Little improvement from last time, and worse selection! No oatmeal this time, even though it was cold outside and pretty cold in the lobby. Eggs and sausage were the only hot selection, no home fries or biscuits and gravy. Sausage links were OK yesterday, not very good today. Bread slices were stale this morning. But the waffle was good, even though you have to be careful with the flimsy waffle iron. No hard boiled eggs, yogurt, or fruit. And only powder creamer for coffee this time. The liquid flavored Coffee Mates were gone. In addition, the staff still doesn't seem welcoming. I wasn't welcomed back, even though I stayed here several times, and am a Wyndham Rewards Gold member. When I took the remote downstairs the first night, I remarked that I might reevaluate my hotel choices next time I'm in Southwest Fort Worth. The clerk on duty (African American female with tattoo on her forearm) responded "Sometimes we get what we paid for." And the male clerk yesterday with the pony tail didn't seem all that concerned about my problem with the shower. More notes, one of the elevators is out of service, so is the ice maker on the 2nd floor. Public trash containers on second floor were overflowing, and so were the trash by the south entrance. All in all, it's increasingly difficult to recommend this La Quinta. The owner needs to step it up and improve like he keeps saying he will in his responses. And Wyndham Corporate needs to get on the ball, and police its franchisees. I reported the TV and shower issues to Customer Care. Edit: In reading the response below, I am hoping I will actually see evidence that y'all are backing it up with action this time. In staying at another La Quinta recently, the difference is night and day. The staff is much friendlier and more helpful than at Cityview, the breakfast has far greater variety, and the TV system runs right. Furthermore, the nightly rate is about the same with my Rewards membership.
