I posted a glowing review for Harvey three years ago, because he seemed to know what he was doing and the price was right. Unfortunately, in the long run, I got what I paid for. As the business has grown, we have moved toward using a tax firm, rather than an individual like Harvey Fisher, to keep up with our books and tax returns. One of the first things they had to do was to restate the last tax return Harvey prepared due to significant mistakes made. In the process of that, we also discovered that the TX state return had us misclassified as an incorrect entity and instead of zero tax due that was reported, we now have to refile the franchise tax return from two years ago and on top of the taxes pay significant penalties and interest. This was likely an issue of simply checking the wrong box. But instead of acknowledging the mistake made, Harvey came back at us with "I was told that you were this type of company...". Only that is a lie. Harvey did our books monthly for over three years and knows very well what type of a business we are. This "blame the customer" attitude is the sole reason behind this edited review. Yes, I understand the incorrect return and the financial fallout is ultimately my responsibility. However, business owners hire people like Harvey to guide them where their own knowledge is lacking. So, beware - this is not a CPA, but rather an Enrolled Agent, with limited scope of expertise. And mistakes are made. He should be listing his PTIN on the returns but he isn't. In simple terms, Harvey does not stand by his work product. For me, this turned out to be a very costly mistake.

Harvey is excellent! He was quick to respond, extremely helpful and answered all my questions. The powerpoint he created for me was the icing on the cake. I highly recommend him!
