      image In the re-purposed "Great Southwest" building est. 1926, this Choice hotels upscale brand, art deco vibe boutique type hotel has a great location for baseball fans and those wanting to be DT. Beautiful period styled elevator lobby and second floor front desk and bar (bar called "The Rig") Remodeled "quiet" rooms have neutral colors, well done finishes and dark furniture. Nice, well lit mirror, ventilated bathrooms (barn door entry, white subway tile, hingeless door shower enclosures). Amenities including, small fridge, Keurig coffee machine and good TV/channel selection. Beds and linens are very comfortable! "The Rig" is an open style well appointed 2nd floor bar to relax after work or a game. Casual seating available near fireplace along with several 2 seat arrangements near the windows. Valet parking is available. Mid-block entrance may be a bit challenging for valet drop-off during busy times but valet service is super friendly and accomodating. Cambria Houston Downtown has the best check-in / front desk staff in Houston! The bar staff is super as well! This place rocks!
      Rooms: Housekeeping and Maintenance keep rooms super clean and looking like new.
      Nearby activities: Several venues and gathering places nearby. Restaurants are well varied, something for everyone.
      Walkability: Close enough to walk to George R. Brown Convention Center, Minute Maid Park, Toyota Center and Discovery Green.
