My daughter and I stayed here on a visit to Houston for the Madonna concert. The hotel is lovely and the area is beautiful. We got a suite so that my daughter wouldn't have to deal with my snoring. We came back to the hotel at around 2:00 a.m. to hear noise in the next room from the living room in our suite. The walls are thin in this hotel! On that same note, I was awakened at 7:45 a.m. the next morning with the woman in the room next to the bedroom in my suite talking on the phone. I could hear her conversation word for word, "Oh for real," and "No he didn't!" and "Well I think you should just tell him" and on and on. This problem could be solved by installing white noise machines in the room, as I've seen in other hotels that have this problem. (Tip: take your own box fan for white noise, if you can). Another problem was the lack of bedding for the pull out sofa in the living room. Most hotels will have this put away in a closet or dresser, so we were expecting this. We called the front desk at 2:15 a.m. after looking for it, and the front desk man said he didn't have any more blankets at this hour, just sheets. My daughter asked if he could send them up, and he said no because he doesn't have anyone to bring them to us. So we had to go down to the front desk after 2:15 a.m. to pick up two flat sheets, no fitted sheet and no blanket. (Tip: bring an extra blanket). I told my daughter that I could ask him to get us a blanket from an empty room, but she said no because he said he doesn't have a helper right now. She ended up being cold in the middle of the night and came in and woke me up. The highlights: the sweet young lady at the front desk offered me a late check out when I inquired about the check out time, so we got to check out at noon. The bartender was nice and the drinks were good. After we ate we had a few slices of pizza we wanted to save, but we were in a hurry to get to the concert, the Uber was on its way, and the line at the elevators was long. We asked the same young lady at the front desk if she could hold the pizza box for us, and she offered to take it up to the room for us. We asked for her name the next day and we were told it was Claudette (the young lady with braces). Edit: I appreciate the manager, Michael, giving me a call to discuss concerns. I will say again, this hotel is worth it if you bring a fan for white noise and an extra blanket. I'll give it another try with these items.
