I am giving the inside of the Yurt 2 stars. The inside was beautiful and clean. The outside is a WHOLE different story. The owners cabin is located on the same property about 50 yrds to the left of where the Yurt sits. The hammocks, lit trees, & metal table/chairs are all located on what I would describe as their side yard. This is behind the bath house a few feet from the Yurt. There is a fire pit, but you have to find/supply your own wood. You can not see the lake from the Yurt very well. It is only visible in a few spots through the trees and is down the rocky hillside. There aren't any set paths or anything to get to it & you can not get right up close to the water. It is too steep of a drop off. We booked our trip for mid/late January. (This may also play into the lake levels) When we arrived on Friday, we passed a soccer field & remote control air plane field about 300 yrds to the right and in front of where the Yurt is located. The remote planes were flying evening. Those weren't too much of a bother. Just buzzing. The soccer field was LOUD. The games lasted through about 11pm Friday night. They started up again at 7am sharp on Saturday morning and lasted through 10pm or so that night. The ENTIRE time you hear screaming, honking cars, & cheering coming from the fields. When the soccer games finally wrapped up both nights, the drag racing began!! Loud car engines and exhaust screaming through the night until about 2am!! We finally get laid down only to be woken up by a flash light shinning through one of the windows at about 2:30am!!! I do not know if this person was one of the owners or just a random person who came from the venue to the left or one of the surrounding neighborhoods. Throughout the weekend we could also hear random disturbing noises like banging from some type of construction, an event at the venue, DFW planes flying low and CONSTANTLY, and random people from the neighborhoods walking around with their animals. I know we were in nature, but additionally, we had the pleasure of meeting a visiting family of skunks that came right up to the Yurt. It made it very nerve wracking to go outside to the bathroom or enjoy the fire pit. I feel the location his highly misrepresented on the website and more accurate pictures of what things actually look like around the Yurt and it's location should be advertised in advance. We were expecting a quiet family camping trip & that is far from what we got.
