These apartments are dimly lit, haven't been renovated since before i was born, and it should be illegal how little storage space is available for 6 tenants. While they did eventually admit their mistake and resolved the issue, Redstone management has breached contract in doubling the late rent policy, showing that all they see us as is bags of money. Its a shame, because the place is so perfectly located, but its not worth it at all as of April 2023. There are some major changes that need to be made with Redstone before I would ever consider living in another one of their apartments. Yesterday people randomly entered our apartment for a tour unannounced, and today our water was shut off without warning. Do yourself a favor and sign somewhere else

Please take the reviews you see here seriously. Like others here I signed with friends so I could live close to campus and for cheaper than other places around. The prices have gone up drastically and nothing changed in the complex or amenities to warrant the price they charge now. It is managed by redstone and immediately when they took over they breached contract and ignored tenants. The issue has since been resolved but only after threatening legal action. Just know they were probably planning on getting away with it if no one here had the guts to say anything. The lighting is poor and only some apartments have AC and the rooms are not equally sized despite everyone paying the same price for rent and utilities. Also I was sent a notice after moving out that they took $10 a semester ($20 total) fee out of our security deposit for carpet cleaning. This is a complete scam. They never came in once for any carpet cleaning either semester and it definitely wasnt done before we moved in. Carpets are black and there is food in between the baseboards and carpet. Walls are marked and patchy paint is all over. One other thing that I would add just for reference for other is about the fishbowl (the buildings and apartments are so close together that they call it the fishbowl). Some people like it because it promotes social interactions and activities, but know that if youre trying to study or just relax at home that youll have a really hard time getting anything done since you can hear everything going on when everyone is right outside your window. Some like it, some dont. Fair warning. Overall I dont recommend staying here. You end up paying close to $500 each month with everything added up. Youd be better off paying $50 more and get your own room and have better living arrangements and live somewhere thats actually worth that money. DONT LIVE HERE

Edit: this review was written prior to the Redstone acquisition. My former roommates who stayed report thing have gone significantly downhill since then. The abstract There are lots of factors you should consider when choosing an apartment. Price, location, quality, management, and hidden fees are all important. Tl;dr, you buy the location, you will pay for the units and management. The good The location is about as good as you can get, and so is the price! Your roommates and neighbors will be good, genuine, kind, fun, and very humble (living this way will keep you humble). The bad Almost all the value comes from the location though. The units are oddly cramped for the sheer square footage, and don't appear to have been updated since the early 80s. It's hit or miss if the essentials will be working. I moved in to a broken toilet, shower, kitchen sink, moldy windows, severe mold under the kitchen sink, a fridge with broken handles, no exterior lights, cracking walls, about a hundred discarded pots and pans, a constant permeable diarrhea smell, and the worst stuck on grime I've tried to clean from any unit student housing or not, full stop. The ugly Management was all but absent, except when they were antagonistic. I'll provide an example. The unit I was in had two couches. One was two seats and ok. The other was 3 seats, torn to shreds, had broken arms, and a broken back. It was ready to be thrown out. I made 3 tickets over 3 months asking for it to be repaired or replaced. Keep this in mind, you'll need it later. On a rare visit to fix a dresser, maintenance staff destroyed a sculpture made by a friend who'd moved across the country. They did not fix the dresser. They didn't inform me they'd come. I should have reported a break in and vandalism. Instead, I sent management a list of waiting maintenance tickets in an email. This list included the couch. Management responded to tell me my repairs were unimportant, other units were in worse condition than mine. If they are, then their units need closure until fixed. If they aren't, management are not just apathetic, but liars too. They claimed they hadn't been in the unit since before I moved in, and had provided only the two seat couch. They would not repair the broken one, or provide more than 2 seats for 4 men. While it doesn't meet the minimum standards for BYU housing, it seems unlikely they'll resolve the problem. At least they paid me $30 for my broken sculpture The results It's a shame there's no affordable housing in Utah county, because you'll pay a combined $1400 a month between you and your roommates here. At best, it's matching the market. More likely, it's legal extortion. Get a tent, it'll be nicer.

I am sad to write this review. Monticello used to be a pretty decent place to live. Redstone recently acquired the property, and things have gone downhill since. Things to consider before moving here: -Management will not follow up on fix requests. -Regardless, you must pay out of pocket to fix things like light bulbs, or they will charge you up to 75 dollars for a failed cleaning check. -They just recently doubled their pricing and added a tier element to it so that rent because more expensive as more people move in. -The apartments/houses Monticello owns are outdated and falling apart. As said before, they are not doing anything to fix that. You get what you get. -You can pay around 4 dollars or more for a single wash of clothes. -Management has no respect or care for their tenants. During my contract, management sent mass emails to everyone verbally attacking and/or doxing an apartment or tenant for small things. Luckily, this never happened to me. Extremely distasteful. (If anyone higher up sees this, please consider hiring a new manager for these apartments. She has destroyed your brand.) However, the rank and file (maintenance workers) are super mature and kind. -There are no good parking options. There are two small parking lots, but a pass is costly, and the lot is full 99% of the time. The lots are too small for the amount of people that live here. You are right next to campus, so street parking is not much of an option. Prepare to park 2-3 blocks away from your apartment. The bright side is that many rooms will be vacant this summer. Everyone is moving out because of the issues. If you'd like to help Redstone hit their bottom line, Monticello is the place to go.
