Mambo Caribbean Buffet

The food is good, but we were disappointed that they didn't have a menu available as seen in the photos. They should remove all the photos from the menu and clarify that it is a buffet. We had already paid when we entered and we were not clear that it was a buffet. After us, 3 more couples arrived who also had no knowledge about the buffet and complained just like us.

Food is fantastic! Very fresh and homemade. If you love Dominican food or are missing a taste of your Mission, Mambo is highly recommended!

A new restaurant to add to my favorites. Everything in the all you can eat buffet was delicious.

I wanted to try somewhere new and unique for dinner, but was quite disappointed with this choice. When we walked in a young kid welcomed us politely and was very friendly. There wasnt a price posted so we just ordered and it ended up being $40 for two buffets and two drinks. The cashier gave us our silverware with one napkin. There werent additional napkins on the tables. The buffet itself consisted of three small stations. Options werent labeled and as Im not an expert on Caribbean cuisine e Im not sure what they were but it appeared that there were the following: whole bananas and oranges, cut pineapple, marinated cucumbers and tomatoes, salad greens with some cheese, croutons etc to top it. Main dishes were 2-3 tyoes of chicken, some shrimp, pork, and maybe a fish of some kind. There were also three types of rice and a stew as well as empanadas. They also had corn cobs, macaroni salad, potato salad and some kind of onion and potato(?) dish. Quite a few of the pans were empty or close to empty. The rice I tried was very crunchy and lacked flavor. The pork was delicious although quite fatty. The shrimp was pretty good and so was the onion topped potatoes - or whatever it was. I felt that most of the food was quite lacking in flavor. Some of the food looked like it had been sitting in the buffet for quite awhile (specifically the corn and something triangular I couldnt identify). There werent a lot of Caribbean vibes in the decor - it was quite small and simple. It did seem clean, however. Overall I wasnt very impressed but I hope for the sake of the cute kid at the register that my experience was the exception and that theyre successful.
