Hyatt House Salt Lake City/Downtown

We just stayed at the Hyatt for a volleyball tournament, typically I dread these tournament hotels but was pleasantly surprised when we checked in early last Friday and the lady at the desk was extremely pleasant and helpful. The rooms are a bit dated but we had a full kitchen and spacious living/bedroom area. Everywhere was clean and any requests for towels, pillows etc were taken care of ASAP. Breakfast was great, we were so happy to be able to fuel up early in the morning. Location was central to the convention center and to restaurants and shops. All of the staff were friendly, cheerful and went out of their way to help. I will definitely be requesting this hyatt for our tournament next year!

From checking in to check out our stay was veery nice. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Hotel was fine, decently clean and nice location. Price was fine. Located near some decent restaurants. However, the water and coffee downstairs is awful, literally every morning when you come down for breakfast, prepare for barely-brown hot water instead of coffee, and brackish, foul-tasting water from the iced water dispenser. It's really bad. I know what you're thinking, calm down, this can't possibly be that big of a deal. I'm telling you, I went out of my way to leave a review it was so bad. This morning I watched several people drinking Starbucks and bottled water at breakfast rather than the free stuff provided. I'm not sure why the coffee is weaker than Kenny G or why the water from the sink in my room tastes better than the water from downstairs, but it's so bad I wrote this whole review. Please someone from the hotel staff, go take a look at the coffee dispensers and taste the water in the container near the front desk. Absolutely disgusting. Good luck.
