        I reached out to Meub associates to help me with a closing on a house. My previous lawyer had unexpectedly passed away in the middle of my closing. Meub said theyd be happy to help. They were able to pick up where my lawyer left off and get me closed. Ive closed on 3 other occasions in the past and never have paid over $1500 in legal fees, always around $1000 on average. There was a little more involved in this closing so I expected maybe $1500-$2000 in legal fees. Meub charged me over $4100, I was shocked. After looking over the bill, they would charge me for 30 minute phone calls when my calls would rarely go over 5 minutes. Who knows what else they up charged me for. It was such a stressful time trying to find a new lawyer after mine had passed, I cant believe Meaub would try to take advantage and capitalize on a fellow colleagues death.

      Mr. Schu’s statements are generally false. We agreed to help out and take over for Mr. Layden after he died, because Mr. Layden was a good friend and former partner. Mr. Schu had purchased a duplex at a foreclosure sale. The confirmation order had to be revised and reissued and then served. The foreclosing bank was difficult to get timely response from, which upset Mr. Schu and caused issues. The owner and tenants were still in possession of the property, and we had to get Mr. Schu possession of the property for a closing, which is what he agreed to do when he signed the agreement at the foreclosure sale. Serving and having to get writs of possession enforced added costs. His costs also included title insurance. The actual amount of time involved exceeded what he was charged. There were also other issues involved further complicating things. This matter was not a simple real estate purchase
