    **THEIR RESPONSE IS PERFORMATIVE AND FOR DAMAGE CONTROL ONLY** Do NOT recommend. You are forced to pay all utilities through them including a delivery service called Fetch which is never used due to various carriers delivering straight to your door at no extra cost already. From the roaches and mice (I killed 8 mice with sticky traps within 2 months of living here and had to purchase an electric rodent repelling device that constantly stays on), to the boiler room exploding and being left sleeping in the building during the evacuation (I have Blink security video footage to prove claim), breathing in toxic fumes last summer, to constant down elevator service and water cut offs for ongoing maintenance, to no exhaust fans in bathrooms, to the smell of smoke and dog urine in the hallway carpets, and the obvious "landlord specials" with painting and repairs, to the open doors from their non-sucured garages, (which you have to pay $100-150/month to park) allowing anyone access (I have had several things stolen out of my truck), to concierge that go MIA from time-to-time, I cannot wait until my lease expires! I dare they say that I have never been or currently am not a resident like they do others with negative reviews. I have a lease until Sept 2024. They will gaslight anyone with a negative review.

    Crystal Plaza Apartments is an exceptional living community that truly goes above and beyond to provide residents with a comfortable and welcoming environment. From the moment you step foot into the lobby, you're greeted with warmth and hospitality that sets the tone for the entire experience. The staff members are not only professional but also incredibly friendly and attentive to residents' needs. Whether it's addressing maintenance requests promptly or providing assistance with any inquiries, their dedication to ensuring resident satisfaction is evident in every interaction. The friendliness of the staff truly makes Crystal Plaza Apartments feel like home. From the leasing office to the maintenance team, everyone goes out of their way to make residents feel valued and appreciated.

    Potential renters should be aware that the 4.2 star rating is not an accurate representation of this place. Pros: 1. The apartments are spacious. 2. Centrally located and close to DC. 3. The leasing agent was friendly and professional. Cons: 1. Access to the metro downstairs is closed for construction with no end date communicated (a major reason why I wanted to live here). 2. I cannot over-emphasize the intensity of the smell permeating the halls, all apartment rooms, and every amenity, which is repulsive ( especially the sharp chemical smell in the break room). 3. Scuffs, scratches, dents, dirtiness and rust: the apartment was dingy, old and low quality, especially for the high cost of rent. The closet bar in one bedroom was covered in rust. The closet doors had poor paint jobs that sealed the panels (with visible drops of dried paint). The elevator's entire lower half of metal plating was scuffed due to mall shopping carts. The 1st floor doors and hallways were filled with large, black scratches and scuffs. 4. The entire 1st floor opens directly into a public shopping mall. Although you have to swipe in to access the complex, the flimsy security measures in place felt very unsafe. 5. Elevator issues: built in the 1960s, the elevators regularly break down, leaving tenants in a 12-story building waiting 5-10 minutes for their turn. Even worse, they're half the size of a normal elevator. Conclusion: I was very excited to tour a complex with such a high Google rating and had bookmarked it among 8 other options as my top choice. However, the reality was quite a disappointment. The aim in sharing my opinion is to help others who are basing their housing decisions on online reviews. Unfortunately, the entire complex gives off a low-quality, dingy and unsafe feel. Would certainly not recommend for the price.

I appreciate you calling earlier today when were able to start a productive conversation around our parking policy. It seems like our call was cut short, but we would like to continue to discuss any further questions you may have around parking or any of the issues you’ve outlined below. Please give us a call back at your earliest convenience.

Regarding your comments below, we inform all prospective residents before they apply how utilities are billed here are Crystal Plaza which is also outlined in your lease agreement. I do apologize for any pest issues or concerns that you have experience. I have checked your account and do not see any request for pest control. Pest control visit the property every Thursday and we ask for resident to notify us no later than Wednesday of any concerns. When you are able to call back, please let us know your preferred time for scheduling any pest control needs. Crystal Plaza did have notable experience that affected residents in August of 2023. The Crystal Plaza team acted fast and worked diligently to remediate any fire damage. We also quickly and efficiently mitigated any elevator issues due to fire damage. Each bathroom in our apartment homes is equipped with a heat lamp that helps to eliminate moisture and odor. Our carpets are cleaned on a schedule but also attended to in there is an immediate need. Should you see anything that we have not yet addressed, please let us know when you give us a call back. I am sorry hear that items have been missing from your vehicle, but we do let everyone know to secure any valuables to limit or prevent acts of theft. Paid parking is standard in the National Landing neighborhood and we do inform all residents of these costs prior to moving into our community. Thank you for brining to our attention that you have experience concierge away from the desk. There are times when they must leave the desk to assist our residents or perform their duties, but we will look into this further. I hope I was able to address your concerns and I am available if you need additional assistance.
