La Quinta Inn by Wyndham Richmond South

The staff was very friendly and even told me where the nearest dog park was for me to take my dog. Rooms were clean and recently renovated, smelled fresh, and they even helped me navigate parking in their busy lot on a weekend. It's hard to find a good place to stay at a reasonable price these days, and this is definitely above and beyond service for the price. Coffee came in clutch on the mornings before I left for the work.

Terrible hotel room for the money! Mattress was lumpy & hard as well as the pillows. Plus the bed made a ton of noise if you moved at all on it! There was zero water pressure to take a shower which caused the showerhead to squeal the entire time. It says pets are free but not if you have more than one. So disappointing as we've stayed at LaQuinta hotels before but this particular hotel needs some upgrades beyond fresh paint.

It wasn't the worst hotel stay, but it wasn't the best. The staff was pleasant and the lobby clean. Ample parking in the lot. Baggage carts and an elevator if you need them. Upon first arriving to our room, the smell of the cleaning products was overwhelming. It had likely just been cleaned but the smell was so pungent it made me gag. More than likely too much product being used as the floors are very sticky. Not dirty, just sticky. The couch sits very low and is uncomfortable to sit on. It's a pullout too, so I'm not sure I'd like to be the one stuck sleeping on it. The bed itself was large and had clean bedding. The frame is cheap and makes sheet metal flex noises every time you move. The Spring mattress was pretty stiff and you could hear and feel the springs. There were 5 tiny flat pillows provided so needless to say it took a lot of maneuvering to find comfortable sleep. AC unit functioned properly. Plenty of natural light during the day. The bathrooms needed help as well but we're clean and functional. Oh, and the floor was so undeveloped that the cabinet doors kept opening. Breakfast was good overall, hot with plenty of selection. Could have been so much worse but definitely could've been better!
