The food was amazing. Fried okra appetizer was more than expected. We shared it throughout our table. Portions are plentiful. They could sell the corn muffins as a to go item and I would be in heaven. The black eyed peas were cooked to perfection...I would love to know that recipe.

This is an upscale fine-dining soul food restaurant located in Richmond. The ambiance and service were exceptional. The restaurant is spacious enough to accommodate everyone. Our waiter was attentive, awesome and always checked in with us. I ordered fried catfish with mac and yams. The catfish was just okay, lacking a bit in flavor, but the sides were outstanding and complemented the meal well. I also had an old fashioned cocktail, which I would rate 6/10, pretty good. Overall, I would definitely come back and try other dishes.

Loved every minute went spent in that restaurant!! The vibe was great, the music was great, the service was great, and the food was definitely great!! We will, without a doubt, be going back real soon. Wheelchair accessibility: It's a ground level entrance into the restaurant

We were passing through and I found this establishment on TikTok. Take out order. Paid $35 (taxes included) 2 pieces of chicken, small serving of Mac and cheese and a small serving of collards. Cold piece of cornbread muffin. Thats it nothing else. The food was okay. Chicken was fresh and crispy. Portion size and the price of the meal isnt added up. Kind of disappointed.

Southern Kitchen was completely off the chain! Everything was cooked to perfection! When I say everything, I mean EVERYTHING! My turkey wings were seasoned just right, the shrimp was to die for, the mac n cheese was exactly how I like it with the right cream to cheese ratio. Last but definitely least, the homemade cornbread will have you never buying Jiffy ever again because it was just that good. Needless to say that I had to buy some extra cornbread to take home. Our waiter Ethan provided excellent service that he deserved the 40% tip. Great recommendation and convo. Wish you nothing but continue success while you finish up medical school. Ms. Shane has put together an amazing restaurant and love the atmosphere. Nothing but the utmost respect to all you have accomplished because this place is amazing. You should expand to Virginia Beach area.
