    Do not live here, I only chose this place over others because of the hardwood floors but it is not worth the illegal practices of the management company and the awful state of the whole apartment complex. The management company (Security Properties) provided a move-out form with a second page that required a signature agreeing to several conditions and fees that were not present in the original lease, such as a required $149 professional cleaning fee and a required $75 touch up fee. These fees did not appear anywhere on the lease that I got, maybe they added it later on. I of course did not sign this. I provided a standard move-out notice as required by law (stating my move-out date) and also following the terms of the lease instead. The leasing office team kept lying and saying that I had to agree to all of these new provisions just to move out, claiming that otherwise I would be liable for additional months of rent. These claims are false and misleading, and likely illegal. Anyway they eventually stopped responding and apparently accepted my move-out notice. They still charged me the $149 cleaning and $75 touch up fees even though I cleaned the entire apartment and never agreed to those fees. I decided to just pay it in the end because it wasn't worth going to court over the fees, but those fees were nowhere in the original lease and the fact that they were later automatically required according to the "move-out notice" they tried to bully me into signing rather than charged based on the shape that the apartment was left in makes them unambiguously illegal under the Seattle and state renter laws. The apartment complex itself is in terrible condition: - Frequently there are people having loud conversations after midnight in the courtyard and in the hallways. Even with the window closed, if your unit faces the courtyard you can hear every word. - There is not enough trash capacity so the trash chute is frequently auto-locked. When this happens, a lot of people in the building are too lazy to bring their trash down to the parking garage so they instead pile it on the floor of the trash rooms. - The apartment is situated between I-5 and Roosevelt Way and it is a terrible location. Very dangerous to walk at any time of day because of all the high-speed car traffic. - Utilities for the common spaces is added on top of rent rather than included in it. So this is a variable cost that you cannot predict. - You cannot host non-resident friends in most of the common spaces like the rooftop lounge unless you pay several hundreds of dollars. This is apparently because other residents kept partying there and trashing the place. Maybe they should spend their time evicting people who repeatedly violate the noise / trash provisions of the lease rather than bully people into signing ridiculous move-out notices.
