Gwen is an amazing interior designer, and she brings vibrance and panache to each project that she works on. I have recommended her to several friends for her design work in Seattle, and I would not hesitate to recommend her interior design services again.

I had the pleasure of working with Gwen from Atmospheric Design, and I cant recommend her enough! She transformed our living room, entryway, and master bedroom into beautiful, welcoming, and functional spaces that we absolutely love. Gwen listened carefully to our needs and preferences, and worked with us to create a vision that perfectly matched our style. What we appreciated most was that she suggested various options, helped us narrow down decisions, and incorporated our existing pieces in creative ways. Gwens incredible taste, dedicated drive, and professional enthusiasm made the entire process a joy. From the moment we met her, we knew we were in good hands. She took the time to understand our lifestyle and how we use our space, and then used her expertise to create a design that was both practical and aesthetically pleasing. Her attention to detail was impressive, and she went above and beyond to ensure that every aspect of the project was executed flawlessly. One of the things that stood out to us was how much Gwen cared about our satisfaction. I was looking for help furnishing our new house: adding coziness, texture, and color. Gwen came highly recommended by several people in my neighborhood. First she made some seemingly simple suggestions to rearrange things, which I did on the spot, that made a huge difference. She shared the interior-design principles behind the changes as well, so that we could use them in any room. For items she suggested buying, Gwen was able to pull up great examples right there on her laptop -- in our price range -- so that we would know what to look for. She literally saved me hours. Not only on research but on returning and reselling the random choices I would have made. A few examples: Our dining room is challenging: a small space made smaller by several doors that need to open, and we wanted to be able to seat six people. Gwen pointed us to the perfect table. In our entryway, Gwen suggested a rug to liven up the space. She pulled up examples of rugs that would look good with our artwork, showed us how to more efficiently search online, talked about what materials and pile heights of rugs work where, and took measurements for us -- making sure doors could open properly, which I wouldn't have thought of. Now our house feels cozy as soon as we walk in. Our favorite change is the vibrant new rug in our living room. Looking at it brings me joy, along with knowing it was created by a Black designer. These are only a few of the updates to seven rooms that Gwen recommended in a single session. She included detailed follow-up notes. (Never hurts to take your own notes, too.) She shared interior-decoration principles that will guide us long-term. She made herself available to buy items for us without pushing additional services. I also appreciate that feng shui informs her work. She listens, observes, and quietly offers various ideas, rather than overpowering your preferences (I'm thinking of a guy at a design store years ago who tried really hard to sell us on a fake palm tree, even after we said that is something we would never buy in a million years). I would definitely hire Gwen again.

We have been thrilled with our experience working with Gwen at every step of the way. We hired her when we bought our first house to help us furnish and design the interior. During the very first consultation, she recommended rearranging our current furniture in ways that transformed a number of spaces. Her furniture and decor suggestions since then have been amazing. She has found so many things we never could have found on our own, and that makes our home feel wonderful. She has made a process that would otherwise have been stressful and agonizing for us into something joyful and fun, and we absolutely love the results.

I have worked with Gwen on three occasions. The first time to help me with my rental townhome and the second when I bought a new house. She listened to what I wanted and needed and helped me through the daunting design process. She helped me use my existing items to transform my room into a space I wanted to come home to and use on a daily basis. She then gave me just a selection of a few items to purchase to round out the look. In the end I was very pleased. She generally does all this in just a few hours. I was so pleased working with her I referred her as my third experience with her. I would not hesitate to contact her if youre not happy with your current space and need a change, design help, an uplift or if youre moving into a new space. She listens, is thoughtful, insightful and mindful of budget and tailors things to each individuals needs. Its amazing what she can do in such a short time.
