The Pfister Hotel

Rooms very spacious, great views from room as well as the top floor pool area. The location was perfect, right in the heart of the city and a close walk to the public market. The history of the space and the decor was all upkept very well. Breakfast was delicious and the bar, restaurant, and cafe were all very chic. The staff was incredibly friendly, and the amenities were nice. No complaints! I will definitely be staying here again next time I am in Milwaukee.

Avoid. Updating this, to Problematic. Certain rooms (old building, windows on the airshaft) have windows that don't open. This might not be a big deal for you, but here was the issue. The HVAC system is either heat or cooling, one or the other. In April, it's heat only. So the room was 80 degrees, no way to cool and no way to open a window. Just swelter. Other rooms have opening windows and more options (new tower). Ours didn't. The manager made it right after three trips to the front desk and two calls, a d we left happy. If you can sleep in a warm room (spring) or a cool room (autumn), then no worries. If room temperature is a concern, then spend a minute when booking to be sure you're in the new tower. Meanwhile, the lounge and restaurants and services are great. Wonderful location. Original post: Hotel lists AC but doesn't have AC. NON opening windows, in room hvac is only heat, no way to run the fan for fresh air or cool air, the fan only heats. Room at 85 degrees and climbing. Hotel can't help but they brought a box fan. Otherwise nice but can't sleep. Rooms: Rooms too hot, no AC.

Great place, but not real sure what all the buzz is about the Pissedher. Hilton Gardens, et al. just the same if not better for much less.
