After months of working with a builder that could not provide a truly customized home, I was in search for a custom home builder. I reached out to Hagen Homes on a referral from a previous client of theirs. From the initial sales contact with Josh, to the personalized house plans with the architect Amanda, and the selections process with Jackie, the team has met all of my high expectations! During every stage of the building process, I have felt included in all decisions making the what could be stressful home building experience pleasurable and exciting! The owner Josh Hagen prepared me for every step of the building process so that I was aware of expectations and prepared for next steps and decisions I needed to make. The architect and designer Amanda Morrow paid attention to all the details I was looking for and her plan was nearly perfect from the beginning. Because of her attention to detail, we only needed small tweaks from her original design. The selections professional Jackie Becker spent hours with me in person and through email and phone calls supporting me in all of my selections. She communicated with me regularly which made the process personable. She has impressive detail to attention and communicates well. I've had the chance to work with Josh and Jackie and continue to be impressed with the organization and knowledge. It definitely helps when the owner is present on the job site and helping ensure things are completed the way they're supposed to be.

Deal with lots of contractors and tradespeople and have known Josh for about 10 years. Can tell you hes a straight shooter, does quality work and keeps the cost reasonable.

Team work makes the dream work! I built a home with Hagen Homes and was not disappointed. We gave Josh a call and we set out on our home building adventure.We met with Josh and Amanda and told them what we were looking for in a home and they did not disappoint! Other builders in the area had pre-designed homes and this is where Josh and Hagen Homes shine. Our home is a 4000 sq ft ranch with a 4000 sq ft basement. Please tell me where youll see that! Everything was designed the way we wanted it and if problems emerged, whether it was cost or a delay in something as there is in custom home building, we were always informed. The staff is knowledgeable and was able to answer or get back to us pretty quickly with any questions or concerns. I always heard horror stories about building a home that its one of the most frustrating things that you can do but the process was pretty smooth. One of the things I constantly see are budget problems. Peopletalk with your builder and set up a plan. Again thats where josh and the team get five stars! They always confirmed with us what the budget was for that particular area and if we saved in one area that money could go into a different one. I wish I had the finances to do a tweek or two but Hagen Homes went above and beyond to try and fit as much as we could into our home. Im retired military/ medically disabled and Josh even worked with the VA to make sure the plans of our home were up to the VA standards for the home grant. ( NOT AN EASY PROCESS) Again I highly recommend Hagen Homes if youre looking to get a truly custom home, that YOU design within your budget and have knowledgeable people to help you in your journey. We started the project for building a new house after meeting right after 4th July 2021. Everything was going well for few weeks. Then we were introduced to the Designer/Architect (Amanda Morrow; from Lake Country Design Studio LLC)for home design. We got the first model after a month. And then everything went downhill. Given that Miss. Morrow had family issues but everything kept dragging on. We got the first design completed in Sept/Oct' 2021. After requesting for few changes, the timeline kept increasing. In short we got some design in Dec'21 which was not even close to what we wanted as final. We got the bill for the design process right away too. Given that we were promised that it will be rolled into the building cost of the house, we were informed that, it has to be paid right away. I dont think it takes past 5 months to come up with some design of a house, with preliminary costing. The design cost for 3300 sq-ft home was past $8000. Requesting to increase a home by 1 foot on each side took another month; just to see the change on a print. In short, our experience with Hagen homes was horrible. I think we saw the warning posted sooner in the project, than later. Please beware of the timeline and costing. Most of the other builders we talked to would make a plan anywhere from $1500~$3500. Also, they would stick to the promised timeline not just keep procrastinating it. If there is an issue, let the customer know, and he can find another architect or vendor rather than keep delaying the project. Repeated request to accelerate the project, with Josh, did not go anywhere. Any questions for us from Hagen homes was answered within 2 days or less. If there main business is to keep the customer hanging with unknown and increasing timeline, they do very well with it. I would think harder to start a project with them or give other builder a chance than start anything with them. Its not worth it. EDIT:_ Hi Josh, my name is Rahul.
