About
LoLo's Seafood Shack

Are you craving some seafood? How about a pile of sauce-covered shrimp or steamed snow crab? Maybe you’re looking for the satisfying crunch of fried conch or a savory soft-shell crab sandwich. At LoLo’s Seafood Shack, you can enjoy a taste of the coast — or the islands — without ever having to leave New York City!In the Caribbean islands, a “LoLo” refers to a traditional restaurant where you can taste local dishes, seasonings, and flavors. In 2014, entrepreneur and hospitality guru Leticia Young partnered with executive chef Raymond Mohan to create LoLo’s Seafood Shack. The goal was to introduce New Yorkers to the flavors of the Caribbean and provide a new twist on coastal seafood favorites.Young has more than a decade of experience in the hospitality industry and trained at the French Culinary Institute. Chef Mohan grew up in the South American country of Guyana and used to visit the local street market every day with his mother. His childhood experiences with local foods and spices sparked a lifelong passion for the culinary arts, and he continues to find that same inspiration on the streets of New York. The menu is a seafood lover’s delight and expansive enough to include food for both meat-eaters and vegetarians. Popular dishes combine New England favorites like shrimp and snow crab steampots with Caribbean street food, like conch fritters, jerk-seasoned ribs, and smoked achiote wings. You can also dig into vegetarian sides, including street corn, wok-seared cauliflower, and “durty rice.” Sandwiches at LoLo’s Seafood Shack are served on fresh, homemade bread called “Johnny Cakes.” For extra spice, add any one of their signature sauces.Satisfy your seafood craving with delicious coastal cuisine and Caribbean food from LoLo’s Seafood Shack. This seafood restaurant has something for everyone. Call (646) 649-3356 to make a reservation and visit the website to see the full menu or place an order online.

image Just ordered delivery from here for the first time and I def recommend, and will be visiting and ordering again in the future.
The fish tacos were great. Catfish is seasoned and fried perfectly. The taco was a little messy to eat but thats kind of a given ordering tacos via delivery. Bonus of ordering tacos delivery is using your own hot sauce, the tacos paired perfectly with Trader Joes Yuzu hot sauce.
Lolos fries were delish. I wish they put the sauce on the side for delivery, but I didnt request that in the notes or anything and Im sure theyre perfect when coming fresh out of the kitchen.
The plantainjust wow idk what to say about the plantains. Order the plantains then hide your credit card so you dont black out and order them 10 more times in a row.

image Beware, this place rarely stays open until the closing time that is posted on google and their website. Call first and if you do manage to catch them while theyre still cooking double check your order. Ive had to return bc my order was wrong on more than 1 occasion. Food is decent, atmosphere is meh.

Thanks for sharing your experience. After 10 Years of faithfully honouring our hours, This location is closing at the end of this month as the building is changing hands. Thus LoLo's had reduced hours that we've repeatedly edited, but for some reason Google reverts back to the orginal hours of operation. Check out our new location at lolosonthewater.com.

image This is actually one of the best meal Ive had. Its not super cheap but the food is actually the best. The seafood boil was amazing, I got the the Lolas sauce shrimp and potatoes and broccoli. The flavor and spice was actually delicious. The conch fritters and sauce was good too. The Messy rice and jerk chicken with a special bread was the best chicken and rice meal I have. I shared a peppas boil with shrimp and other stuff came out to be around 24$. This place was really worth it. Good feel. Nice people. Nice community. And the restaurant smells really good.
This for me is a 10/10 local food spot in Harlem.
