From start to finish Cascade Radon's performance was stellar. The bid price given by Steve was the lower of two we received. He explained fully the type of installation he was recommending. (We opted for bids from two contractors, one of which was by CR, as our daughter had been very satisfied with CR.) The contracting and payment processes were superb--all done digitally. Our questions of CR were always answered promptly by knowledgeable staff--Barb and Mariella. Our installer, Greg, arrived on time, explained what he planned to do, made a beautiful installation, answered our questions and left the work-site clean. CR arranged for Hillsboro Electric, who arrived during the installation, to make the electrical connection. In addition, CR obtained the mechanical permit. The radon test result after the installation was well below what CR had committed to do. Cascade Radon is a first rate company.

great experience with cascade radon. This is my second time using them.
First time was for a radon reduction system for a house in portland. They were able to install in a recessed wall cavity which was able to completely hide the system from the inside. It measurable reduced the radon and also make the basement much drier and less musty. This was important because the basement was a living space.
Second time ( different house ), they did an active soil depressurization (ASD) system. This house didn't have a radon issue, but it did have a smell issue from a very musty/damp crawl space. Even after the crawlspace was vapor barrioried, the smell remained. Steve came out and we talked about the project. He was really careful to explain that installing the ASD system didn't guarentee that the smell would be reduced. So much so, I felt like he didn't want my business. But I realized he just wanted not to set false expectations. I went ahead with the job. The crew was professional and quick and clean.
I didn't notice anything really for the first week, but by the second week, it started to lessen. After the second week, the smell was completely gone. Yay! I don't fear using my basement again!

Had them in this week to install a radon mitigation system after an inspector found levels over 8. They were prompt, kept me updated, and had it all done quickly. Job appears to be durable and they were conscious about asking about future work to be done in the basement when planning out the location of the system. The blower seems fairly quiet - I hear a slight hum when in the adjacent bathroom but otherwise not noticeable. Price seems to be on-par with other companies.Edit: Update - when they came out to pick up the radon detector the levels looked great y noticed a vent that could alter the levels. They wanted to re-test to make sure the system was working properly. I really appreciated that they did this without being asked - it shows that they actually want to do the job right - even though it meant they'd have to come back again.
