My home owner's insurance company hired this company to do an inspection for a sewer line leak. The plumber came to my home unprepared and unaware of the reason for the visit. He did not bring a video camera to do a sewer line inspection. This company then charge my insurance company for services that were not performed. They charged for an electronic leak detection, but only performed 1. a static water pressure test using a $10 tool available from home depot and 2. a visual inspection. Before I informed the plumber was that he was hired by the insurance company he told me that he would perform the inspection for free. This complimentary service is consistent with many other plumbing companies who come to a home for a diagnosis in order to prepare an estimate for the work to be done. Once I reviewed the plumber's report from the insurance company, I called the plumber directly to cancel their follow up appointment to perform the video inspection and explained the reasoning. I was disappointed by the lady's response on the phone when I questioned the work performed. She was surprised and skeptical that I knew what the difference was between the 2 types of tests. I am acutely aware of the fact that because I am a woman people will assume that I don't understand plumbing or the ins/outs of home repair. Never assume that a woman needs a man to explain and understand technical things!
