Why Knot Adventures

Our flight was delayed by 90min and Ray modified our float&fish excursion so we could still get to our next activity on time. Super responsive and easy guide company to work with. My husband and I learned some great fishing tricks and thoroughly enjoyed our time floating down the chena river. The homemade Turkey/Basil/Gouda sandwiches were on point and the raft/gear was all top quality. Highly recommend this company and if we visit Fairbanks again, we will definitely contact Ray for another great adventure!

I contacted several fishing companies until we came across a Why Knot flyer in the Morris Thompson Cultural & Visitors Center and was highly recommended by the Bob. I called and Ray picked up right away, I told him my family of 4 which included an 11 & 12 Yr old wanted to go on our very first family fishing trip he was able to get us in the water the next day! Ray was friendly and enthusiastic which made us me feel at ease and comfortable about embarking on this adventure without breaking the bank he even offers a military discount which we took advantage of my fiancée is a "former" Marine! He picked us up from where we were staying, brought us lunch & drinks, the bate, equipment and even fishing attire and shoes for us. During our ride to Quartz lake he entertained us, made some recommendations, very easy to talk to we even made a quick stop at the Knotty shop for Ice Cream! We spent over 7 hours in the lake fishing which was great since 2 of us had 0 experience fishing. My family had a wonderful day and caught a lot of fish, learned to cast and a lot about fishing! Ray cleaned them out the fish for us and dropped us off. One of the kids left an item behind and Rays' lovely wife dropped it off the very next day! He is great with kids, very patient and is extremely knowledgeable highly recommended for especially for families with kids that ask a million questions.🤣 Thank you Ray for making our first family fishing trip so special and memorable & Thank you for your service!
