We decided to try Coyle's after spending some of the afternoon across the street at the Battlefield site. Upon walking in the establishment is very nice. There is cute dcor throughout the restaurant. Our waitress greeted us within a few short minutes and asked how we were, if we wanted any appetizers to start, and of course drink orders. We were hungry but not overly hungry so we did not get any appetizers. I ordered the chicken fried steak with fried okra and 1 trip to the salad bar. My partner ordered don't start your diet chicken with green beans and bacon and the mashed potatoes with white gravy. Also came with either a roll or cornbread with each entree, we will opt for the rolls next time as we weren't fans of the cornbread (wasn't sweet enough for our texan palate).The salad bar was good! Upon getting our food everything was hot and smelt like a genuine home cooked meal. Okra was on point, the chicken fried steak in my opinion was a little too peppery as it overpowered the steak itself. It was still good overall, but i believe i would order something else next time. My partner said the don't start your diet chicken was good with the sauted peppers/onions it added good flavor. The green beans were well seasoned and the mashed potatoes taste homemade for sure! Overall we would return to try something else on the menu. I give it 4 stars simply because like I said the chicken fried steak was too peppery for me, but still filled me up.
