So you want to go to the beach? For $.75 you can walk two blocks and catch the #7 bus to the Santa Monica pier. Within walking distance of the motel (about 3 blocks) there is Hawaiian BBQ, Sushi, Italian, Mexican food, a bar with live music, a Kragen, (in case you're driving a klunker that needs parts) a good Coffee shop that opens at 6:30, two liquor stores with a small (but good selection of micro brews and within 1/2 a mile there is a big supermarket. Easy freeway access about 4 blocks away. No a/c in the room but there was a fan, and christ, it's southern california you don't need A/C! I booked this room at the last minute. There are other motels in the area but more expensive and already booked. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The other hotel guests were groups of young Euoropeans, families, and young couples.
