I had my brakes repaired here several months ago. I noticed shortly after the service that there was a grinding sound coming from my left front wheel. I went back and asked the mechanic about the sound and he said he would look at it and that it might be something with the engine or what not. Before I left I checked the mileage and noted that it had 72,345miles. Anyways the next day when I came back to pick up my car the mechanic told me he had fixed some problems with my engine and front axle and charged me nearly $250 for everything. He assured me that it was not the brake job that he had performed but other existing problems that had caused the issue.
When I got into my vehicle I noticed that the odometer read 72,462 miles...I was confused so I confronted the mechanic and asked him if he had drove my car. He told me that he has to drive all the cars to test them out. I told him that I would expect a 10 mile test drive but what do you have to drive 100+ miles to test for? He claimed that I was mistaken about the mileage but apologized for the confusion.
Not long after I notice the grinding again coming from the left front wheel. I immediately took it to Meineke instead this time just to get a second opinion and it turned out that the brake was damaged and improperly installed. Apparently, although I had paid for new brakes I received used or defective ones instead. I contacted the Bureau of Automotive Repair and was told that there have been numerous complaints from this place.
When I had checked yelp, I noticed a good review and a negative one but never realized that this place had so many negative reviews that had been filtered. I wish I had done more research about this place as it would have saved me a lot of time and money.
