Fix Auto Normal Heights

Fix Auto is wonderful - I had been rear-ended, and called around local shops in Normal Heights.  They were responsive, they scheduled me as efficiently as possible, and they made sure they had the parts in stock by the time I dropped off my car.  I was expecting a 4-5 day turnaround, and they somehow got it done the day after I dropped it off!  They were communicative, set realistic expectations (and exceeded them), and of course importantly did an excellent repair job.  I would go back in a heartbeat, and would happily send friends their way.

Had a dent and scratches from scraping a pole in a garage on my new car. Used my insurance and made an appt for repair here. Even though I made an appt a week in advance it took almost a month to get my car back. This is my first "new" car, it had just about five thousand miles on it. I take care of it and regularly get it hand washed and get it detailed and waxed every three months at 2020 Auto Detail, they rock. So a few weeks afterI picked it up I went to get it waxed they noticed some damage and compromised paint in the shape of a circle in the center of the hood. They told me it was most likely bird poop on the car being left in the sun for too long. I would never, but I know who did. I knew it was too late to bring it back and point it out because it was weeks later and I have no proof to get recompense. And though they did a great job on the actual repair I don't want them to have my car again. The entire hood has to be repainted in order to repair it and I have to pay that out-of-pocket. I was looking for a mechanic to assist in fixing my taillight since my mechanic couldn't do it for a couple of weeks. After checking out several shops who couldn't assist me, I went into Western Auto, where Andy, who had never met me, respectfully but regretfully told me he was too busy and shorthanded to give me prompt attention, so he referred me to Deluxe Auto body shop (Fix Auto in Normal Heights).  Chris Nguyen, the manager at Deluxe, who also had never met me, promptly came out from one of the bays to greet me and see how he could help.  After I explained my dilemma, he politely asked me to open the trunk to look at the light, and within 5 minutes figured out the problem so I could get the part and fix it myself.  When I asked how much I owed for the service, he told me it was FREE and he was happy to help.  I literally cried as I had been dealing with the issue for days with little success or positive responses from other shops.  When I called later to let the manager know what great service I received, Chris told me he IS the manager and said he was very happy to help and hopes that if I ever have to go back it's just to fix a lightbulb! I am so grateful for his help and positive and supportive attitude and pleased to have learned about this shop right in my neighborhood!
