Hi my name is Amy Belusko-Pittman and I am a client of Jerry Schaffer’s. Any of you out there looking for an upstanding attorney you have definitely found one in Jerry Schaffer. I first met Jerry when he visited me while I was in custody at the farm in Irvine. I had a public defender defending me at the time who wasn’t doing anything for me or for my case and Jerry showed up and paid me a visit at the jail, he reassured me that he was going to help me and helped me was exactly what he did. He had faith in me and made me feel at ease during a difficult time in my life. He gave me hope that he was going to get me out of jail and within the time I retained him I was out of jail within a few weeks after. Jerry has stuck by my side throughout the entire time with my case. When I got arrested again for the second time just recently, he was there to help me with a new case that I had caught. After doing a little bit of time, which o should have done a lot of time, he was able to get me out once against.
I’ve been reading some of the reviews that have been given and quite frankly I am appalled by some of the things I have read. He does not deserve any of the bad reviews he has gotten. I have had several attorneys over the years and he is by far the best attorney I have ever retained. So for anybody out there looking for a good honest man to help them with a difficult time in their life choose Jerry Schaffer and o promise you will not be disappointed.

Hired the guy a year ago to file a petition for factual innocence. He stated it would take 3 months tops to have completed. Three months go by and his previous secretary claims she filed it. Jerry later validated that this was a lie. Four months later still no motion filed. I asked for my money back and no answer. The latest correspondence he himself reiterated that “this isn’t rocket science” and “it’s really simple” telling me to let him get to the bottom of it. More time wasted and nothing done. Disputed the charge with the bank and reported him to the state bar. The guy is an absolute mockery to the legal profession. I highly recommend all the other one star reviews do the same. It’s only a matter of time before this guys incompetence costs someone their freedom.
Also, most of the 5 star reviews are clearly written by staff in his office. Most defendants don’t know what’s “common practice” for bond hearings.
