Bealls Outlet

This Bealls is located off San Jose in the shopping plaza with Steamers and Big Lots.  It's my go to place when I'm looking for cheap clothes or home decor.  They get wholesale items and sell them at a discounted rate.  Many of the clothing is name brand and helpful to those who don't like paying a ton of money for clothes.  Now, this is a store where you have to dig a little for a deal.  I've been shopping here for years and check back every few weeks to see the new stock.  I've purchased jeans for $10, slacks for $15, and even paintings and kitchenware at a deep discount.  You really need to enjoy bargain hunting to be a Bealls shopper, otherwise you'll likely be disappointed because you're not guaranteed to find what you may want/need.This store is well lit, clean, with decently wide aisles to get around.  The staff changes so it's kind of a crap shoot on whether you'll have a long line or get through checkout quickly.  Don't forget to sign up for their reward card where you get an extra percentage off on Fridays, seniors get extra savings on Mondays, and you rack up points for a money off coupon.

This token review is simply to express how some stores with the same name can and do have dissimilar return policies.   I had purchased a shirt from the Blanding store that I wasn't happy with after I got home. You see, guys can exercise those prerogatives too. Anyway, I took it back and was told  if I can find another one on the rack that's exactly the same price (not skew or brand), it makes their job very simple as it would be an even exchange and no paper work. As it was, their selection was limited and I found nothing. I decided to try another store, the subject of this review.When I presented the shirt to the girl at the St. Aug. store, I couldn't find my receipt. She said if I can find another shirt with the exact same skew number, it would be an easy and equal exchange. I assumed this was the same policy I was told about at the Blanding store, but silly me to assume. I went back and found one, same price, same brand but different color and was jazzed to bring it up to the front. She looked at it and said, No!, this is a different shirt. I said, I realize that but it's the same price and brand. Easy exchange, right?She repeated, I said the same skew number Sir. These are different. I said, well, why would I bring a shirt back here, only to exchange it for an identical one?She asked if I wanted to purchase the new shirt in exchange?I said, YES!!!She proceeded to fill out a return ticket and scanned the returned shirt. But it scanned at a price $4 less than I paid for it. I asked, what happened to my even exchange?Her answer? I don't know...I protested and she explained that they had to handle unlike returns this way for inventory control. That way, we know when to order new merchandise.I said, isn't this an outlet store? Why would you order new merchandise? She said, well that's our policy sir.  (shrug)I had wasted more of my time than it was worth and paid the difference, it wasn't worth the aggravation, but $4 worth of fun to write about.
