The only great thing about this place was happy hour. Primarily because it was free. They have great customer service but the rooms smell of mildew. I was sick the entire week that I was there with allergies and asthma issues. Skip the food and coffee.

The Cabot Lodge used to be a great find in Tallahassee. It was the kind of place the staff would greet you by name if you were a regular. The evening happy hour was a real treat, they made you feel like you truly were a valued guest. I always had a good stay. But all that is gone now. The building was bought by Holiday Inn with plans to rebrand it as a Holiday Inn Express. They say they are going to remodel and clean the place up but so far they've just let it go. The pool last week (March '14) was abysmal showing no signs of winter maintenance, although I did see teens swimming in it. Yuck. Of course there's no more happy hour. From my conversations with the staff I gather almost all the prior staff moved on. So I'm sad to say it's goodbye Cabot Lodge, it was fun while it lasted. I'll find other accommodations next time 'round.

So we decided to stay at this hotel a few nights ago. We were just passing thru Tallahassee and it was after midnight and we booked out room via Hotwire. When we reached the hotel the dude at reception told us that since we had booked after 12 AM midnight we are scheduled to check-in around 1 PM. It was 1 AM and we told him there was some mistake and we will leave by 11 AM if he could let us stay for the night as we had already paid them. e refused to help. I called Hotwire and I had to cancel my reservation. Then I asked the Receptionist to give me a room and he charged me 28 $ more than online service saying "This is our lowest rate" We told the guy then since he wasted our 2 hrs we will checkout late around 1 PM and he made a note in his register. Next morning there was a knock at the door and there was a lady who asked me if we ll leave before 11 AM ? that was rude. I told her about our agreement with the night time guy and she said that he didnt mention that to her. I had to go to the reception and SHOW her where he had made the note in a register !!! After 10 mins the lady was back asking if we were going to Vacate the OTHER room aswell. I told her I had booked only 1 room but she was insisting that we booked 2 rooms and it wasted more time. Long story short, Tallahassee is a Nice town and this hotel is a good place but people working there are RUDE to say the least and very very poor service. I will NOT recommend this hotel to anyone else. So much for the HOSPITALITY business !!!!! The lady at reception when we left was very sweet though :)
