EDIT - here's an update. He charged my credit card 3x for one service call. IF YOU ARE A VACATION PROPERTY OWNER YOU NEED TO READ THIS. Nowhere on the island is there a 3 handled valve to replace the broken one we have. the technician did a preliminary look. his recommendation was to come in from the tile wall with a single handle/diverter, NOT THE ACCESS PANEL IN THE KITCHEN. That is a red flag for me. He said the hole had to be big enough to put his hand inside to change the valve. His remedy to hide the 2 holes was a big ugly plate. This means we would never have a chance to replace the handles and diverter with the original configuration which matches the rest of the bathroom hardware. Everything from the ceiling to the subfloor got remodeled 18 months ago. Cant believe the valve has to be replaced? So i also asked the technician, Payton where was the quote? He told me he already got the ok to do the job. I said i am the owner and i never got a quote to ok. Turns out they sent it to the wrong email. i finally came to grips with a possible large gaping hole in the tile wall. I called him back to say go ahead. he said he got scheduled out and to call the office to re-schedule. I did. i asked they have the technician call me because the plate and new ugly shower had to be picked up to which they already agreed. So so call from the new technician. i wait over 3 hours. I call back and the lady said sorry i got overwhelmed and busy and you fell in the crack. So hours later no call from the technician. the day ends. next morning i call the office again and explain that i need to let the technician know about the plate and valve. Meanwhile i approve the estimate with me supplying the valve. There is over a $500 difference in price from them supplying the valve. Still no call and the appt time is rapidly approaching. I call again to remind them. The new tech Norman finally calls me 70 mins or so before the appt. it takes an hour to drive from Kahalui to Lahaina. i explain about the plate and and picking up at lowes as their previous tech said to do. He says ok. He waits about 10 min and calls me back and says sorry he doesnt have enough time to do my job and he has other job after me. if he does my job he cant be on time for the other job!!! i wanted to yell at him but did not. Instead i used my parent tone and said, you are telling me this now after i have been calling you since yesterday for you to call me?? His response was if you are going to talk to me in that tone (lucky i wasnt yellin) iam hanging up. I call the office explain to them they dont know what to say. Then i get a call back from the office saying i have a letter from the owner that he wanted me to read. it read, sorry but we arent interested in doing your job and we can give references. at that time, they verified they sent the quote to a wrong email. I firmly believe the first technician Payton told him i was difficult because i didnt want a big gaping hole on the tile wall side. Also when i said, i never ok'ed the estimate. He challenged me about receiving the bill. THIS COMPANY JUST WANTS TO DO WHAT THEY WANT REGARDLESS OF WHAT YOU MIGHT WANT. PAYTON THE TECHNICIAN WAS INSISTANT I BUY MOEN. "BECASUE THATS WHAT WE WORK WITH". IT IS IMPORTANT TO HAVE THE BEST POSSIBLE QUALITY FOR YOUR RENTAL. THIS COMAPNY DOESNT BELIVE IN THAT. They are unprofessional and can you believe the owner had his employee read me this long message from him? I should probably be thankful they backed out. i cant imagine what kind of quality work i would have wound up with. Mahalo
