The owner of this place had agreed to display some knives that I had made. He had a lot of other art there, so it seemed like it would be okay, the barista I knew and trusted who was my friend said I could trust him, so I left him with 18 beautiful Damascus steel knives that took me months maybe a year, some worth well over $150. After he hung them up, his employee, alaine and I went around and wrote down the name of each knife and the amount of knives that would be displayed there, because I obviously didn’t want to be screwed over. Me, and the owner who goes by jimmy, agreed that if any sold he would take ten percent of the sale for displaying them and I’d get the rest. I still have the inventory list that his barista filled out and had me sign. Anyway, a few months go by and I don’t hear from him. So I go in to the shop and he’s only got one of my knives up for display. That immediately threw up red flags for me. So I texted him and asked him over and over if I could come and get my knives, and what do you know! he would never respond. Again, more red flags. So I asked a lawyer what to do and he said tell them they will be served with subpoenas if they don’t give them back, and they’ll have to provide some answers and or property back. So I told the owner, and his employee that my lawyer is gonna serve you with subpoenas to show up in court if I don’t get my property back. Well that must have scared him. cuz he called me, went on to scream at me very loudly and unintelligibly, I think with a few threats sprinkled in, and hung up and blocked my cell number. So I texted his employee, again, the one who wrote down all the knives and names of them, that if I don’t get them back that she might Have to be a witness when I sue to get my property back. And perjury I believe is a felony so she’d have to tell the truth or she could be in legal jeopardy according to this lawyer I know. Well apparently she got scared too, So The next day or so, the Rupert police call me and say they have my knives and that I can’t contact this dirty gross coffee shop anymore. Some time goes by, because I’m not even in town for awhile, and then a few days ago my mom and I go to the police station and get a small box that I knew instantly when I picked it up that it wasn’t all the knives I had left there. So I open it up, and of course there’s only 9 rusted out knives, some without the sheaths they came in, some all scratched up... it was not the 18 knives that I had left this scumbag in perfect condition. He had stolen or sold and kept the money on 9 of the biggest and most expensive knives I had left in his possession. He stole well over 600$ To 1,000$ worth of knives from me, plus all the time I put into making them, and all the material, it could well be over 2,000$ that he stole. I’d advise anybody to stay away from this place because it’s owner is not honest, is a thief, and will call and threaten you with physical violence if you ask him for your stuff back. If you don’t believe me, go and leave some of your art there and see if you ever get it back. It’ll disappear and he will block you. Today I’ll be filing a stolen items report with the Rupert police and have my lawyer write up what I’m owed and have it delivered to Ginger’s java. If they refuse to pay, then it’ll go to trial and I have all the paperwork from Alaine and jimmy so they’re screwed either way My names on the review, I’m not scared to tell the truth. Jimmy is the owner. Some biker looking thug who wears a bandana and thinks he can steal from people and cuss them out and never have to answer for it. Well there’s about ten people that were in there who were witnesses and his barista had me sign the inventory list she had made. I have that inventory list right here. Right next to the NINE knives I got back in terrible condition. To my knowledge he never sold any. Because he didn’t give me a dime. But I’m sure he did and pocketed the money. Avoid this place like the Plague. Don’t give it a penny. Go somewhere a little more honest. This place is filthy anyway.
