Not your typical pizza joint. You can create your own pizza with items such: basil pesto sauce, boca ground soy burger and gouda cheese. Open late on the weekend and it's BYOB. As you wait for your pie go to SoFo for a drink. On Wednesday they have "all you can shove" deal for $9.99.

Pie Hole is now my new go-to pizza place. The crust is crispy but not too thin, the topping options are amazing and they really add a lot of each one (even if you're like me and add 5). On top of that, the staff is really personable. Vanessa was at the counter ringing me up. She was really nice and friendly. She didn't even skip a beat the 3rd time a friend texted me to ring in an addition to the order. Also, the waitress who brought the pizza to the table was bubbly and efficient. Overall, it was a great experience.

Sat down for a slice of the vegan cheese and meat pizza. pizza was great: whole wheat crust, sweet sauce and a good amount of garlic. The root beer from the fountain was thick and filling. It came in under $7, and I was given a second slice on the house. The atmosphere was nice, slightly whimsical, with a restored/vintage decor and an old Pac-Man table. The music was good and eclectic, and the place was very clean. The staff was very friendly, and the pizza came pretty quickly. If I had to nitpick, given that this is a neighborhood pizza joint, some televisions to watch the game would be a good idea. Also, the menu is behind you when ordering on a hanging placard, so the arrangement isn't the best. I'd definitely come back for all-you-can-shove and theme nights. Once I go off the vegan diet, I'll definitely come back to try their more traditional fare.

I've eaten at the Boystown location several times and enjoyed the experience. I can't say the same for the Andersonville location. It's a little confusing on where to order and the menu format isn't the easiest to read. Just let me know what you have, the cost and make it simple to read. The decor is very nice. The employees are very friendly. A few of the tables needed to be cleared and wiped down. The music selection is great albeit way too loud. The wait for a single slice of pizza is about 15 to 20 minutes. I ordered a chicken and crumbled bacon slice and received a chicken slice... no bacon. I checked with one of the workers and they pulled the receipt. The order taker didn't add bacon. Bummer, I really wanted that bacon. =( The slice was just okay. It wasn't anything to write home about. Again, I've had Pie Hole several times via Boystown and loved it. Hoping the Andersonville location turns around because I like the idea of having them close by.
