Budget Truck Rental

Do not use Budget trucks!! I called to check that my moving truck and car carrier were good and that I would not have problems when I went to pick it up, they said everything was good to go. When I arrived though they had given my truck to UPS. It was there in the lot but they said I could not take it. I was moving to another state the next day with my young family and my electricity was going to be turn off soon after moving so I needed a truck. No matter who I spoke with they would not help me. They said even though I had a reservation it did not mean I was guaranteed a truck. I spoke with the manager and they told me they could not help and to talk to their competitors. I had to talk to U-haul who was very friendly and found me a truck and a car dolly. They cost me more but their serves was so much better! I don't know what I would have done if u-haul was not able to help. Do not use Budget trucks!

We had reserved a 16' Budget Truck for our move. The reservation was for Tuesday through Friday. We got an email telling us our reservation was cancelled the Friday prior to our move at 4:30 PM. This left us in a scramble to make the move happen as our closing dates could not be adjusted at that time. I understand overbooking, but you can't tell me that they didn't realize it was going to be an issue before Friday at 4:30 PM. We will not be using Budget in the future. Rick at the Budget in Ankeny was kind enough, but really had no solutions that would work for our situation and time crunch. His hands are tied because of upper management making poor business choices.
