This provider was sent by American Home Shield Home Warranty. This was his second visit and since he didn't repair the problem the first time, I was abundantly clear that I would only use his service if the repair on the oil gauge was covered by AHS. He confirmed that the repair was covered. A few days later, he called to tell me they wouldn't pay him because the repair was not covered. Today, I received his bill. I have no choice but to pay because I don't want a mechanic's lien on my house, but this guy is dishonest and I will never allow him in my house again.

My gas heat stopped working at my home.  I put in a request here at bbb.org and Tom was quick to respond.  I called him yesterday and he was able to schedule an appointment 9:30 AM the next day.  He was at the house promptly at 9:30 AM and figured out that the transformer on the boiler was dead.  The heater is over 20 years old but it works and rather than say I needed to replace the whole unit he said I just needed to replace the transformer.  He had one in the truck along with an expansion tank because he noticed that the existing one I had needed to be replaced as well.  The whole fix took about 1.5 hours.  He was friendly and a great guy to talk to, I learned a thing or two about the unit I had installed and that goes a long way to helping me maintain it.  I put his card in my file and I will definitely be using him in the future if I need any other work done.  It's a 65 year old house so I'm sure that will be sooner than later.
