Met with Tracey for initial review and seemed great. I paid for the services, gathered all paperwork required and called several times, sent multiple emails and never would receive a call or email. Finally had to drive to their office and demand a refund. Terrible service

Couldn't help me with my state taxes. I was able to resolve it with another tax consultant.

My Experience with Sunland Tax has been nothing short of a waste of time and money, At my first meeting with Tracy I explained my situation of having to file for 3 years of GRST. During this meeting I emailed her a couple 1099s and paid about $300 to get started. A couple of weeks go by and I get a text message from Tracy asking if I was going to send the 1099s to her, these were the 1099s that I emailed to her as I sat right in front of her, I called her to inform her that she had already received the 1099s a few weeks ago while I was in her office, She said she would check and found them in her email. A couple weeks had been wasted at this point, but she apologized for the oversight and I was fine with that, People make mistakes and people forget no big deal. This was mid-January 2021 During this conversation I brought up the fact that my address had a slightly lower GRST rate than Albuquerque and asked if that is the rate I would be taxed at. After a lengthy conversation with Tracy she agreed that I would be taxed at the lower rate. During the first week of February, I had the rest of the 1099s I needed and sent them to Tracy, She was to request a managed Audit with New Mexico Tax and Rev and put the figures for my tax liability together. I was glad and feeling hopeful that this situation would be dealt with and My LLC could move on with better footing and understanding of the process. Almost 2 months go by and I have not heard a peep from Tracy or anyone at Sunland tax. I reached out to see where we were in the process, I emailed on a Monday to inquire about the situation, I got no response, so I waited a week and Emailed again also with no response. I finally got a response once I sent a Facebook message asking about the situation. I was told that the prepared audit would be completed in the middle of the next week. At this point it was obvious that nothing had been done or even started yet Bill and Tracy tried to play it like they had been working on this the entire time. Once the figures were put together, I received an email from Tracy stating that she was waiting on a link to be provided by New Mexico Tax and Rev to file and get the process started. I noticed the figures she had put together were at the higher tax rate, so I called to ask why and if it was a mistake, Tracy was very combative and rude when I inquired about the difference and her response was “Well where did you deliver?” As if that is where I would be taxed, I informed her that we had a previous conversation about this and that it needed to be corrected. Her response blew my mind. Here you have this lady saying one thing and then filing another way and when she is confronted with the mistake, she has the nerve to just spout off some nonsense instead of looking into the situation. No “IM sorry “ or “my mistake ill redo these right away” It was a 1300.00-dollar mistake and she could care less. She was more annoyed that I had caught her mistake than she was concerned about doing the job right. She congratulated herself at one point for sharing the info with me before she turned it in! I asked why nothing had been done until this point and her reply was “Its Tax time and we are just now getting to it” Hmmmm ok well we started this process the beginning of January, You forgot you had the 1099s and refused to answer my inquiries for over a month but its “tax time” After receiving snide remarks and a bunch of hatefulness when trying to talk to Tracy I decided to have her stop all work on my account until I could look over the numbers, she begrudgingly fixed the numbers at the correct tax rate. I would like to point out that had I not brought that to her attention she would have cost me over $1300.00 her attitude about her oversight was lazy and completely unprofessional. I reached out to Bill at this point because Tracy was nothing but attitude, I asked Bill if New Mexico Tax and Rev had been contacted and what the deadlines were. Bill informed me that New Mexico Tax and Rev had not been contacted at this point.
