This Arby's, conveniently located between Santa Fe and the smaller abodes of northern New Mexico, is most definitely an Arby's. The crispy fries are made well. Crispy and adequately seasoned. Well proportioned in the size we purchased. The sandwiches hit the spot. The roast beef was weighed and added on. The weighing is a nice touch. You know you're getting a half pound sandwich when you pay for one. I think the sandwich constructor could have made my meat mound more middled betwixt the buns. The pressure required to heft the assembly ended up shifting the cheese out of the sandwich as my roast beef Vesuvius left no room for the cheesy goodness to be homogeneously spread. I'd recommend to their sandwich artisans to try and spread the meat around. If possible, crater the middle to allow for the cheese sauce to find refuge from the pressure of a hungry mans grasp. The gentleman advising us of the menu and specials was prompt to let my spanking hot girlfriend and I know that the milkshake machine was out of order after 5pm most shifts due to routine servicing. This was slightly disappointing as I ritually companion my curly fries with a vanilla shake. Sometimes chocolate if I need something stronger. The food packager and presenter was heavy handed with the sauces. We had no shortage of selection or quantity. It was a nice touch, good hospitality, and made the parting memorable. If I had one suggestion it would be to add extra napkins in the food bag. Per, the above, I was challenged by my sandwich and I had to make several judgement calls in close succession as I tackled the beef and was succumb to a heavy drip of cheese from my meal. Perhaps it's my own folly to not stock napkins in my car. I am a messy one. I should be prepared for such situations. Pausanias would agree with that line of reasoning. 'know thyself' and all... That said. Any man, woman, or child ordering a half pound beef and cheese from Arby's who is not visible equipped with a dumptruck for a face will undoubtedly need napkins. At least two. If this Arby's is aiming to allow guests agency over their napkin selection I think a wise departure from this would be to enstate an exception policy for such situations. To any future patrons, be advised and plan accordingly. I will be returning to this Arby's. It is an Arby's after all. I enjoyed myself, was treated to good food at reasonable prices without any haggle or barter, and left full, albeit cheesy. I cannot say when I will return but I know it in my heart to be true. As sure as I know the wind will blow again but cannot say when. My deepest gratitude to the staff, chefs, and artisans.
