Jane's Exchange

I visited with my three daughters back in July, and we had such a wonderful experience that I kept trying to remember to write a review. This place was truly a gem, and exactly what we needed! We were in the city for a few days during our hike of the Appalachian Trail, and I wanted some "normal clothes" for my kids to wear. The owner was so kind and helpful, and even asked my kids about their hike. Thank you for giving us such a happy memory during a somewhat confusing and overwhelming time!

Jane's Exchange is 100% an East Village staple! I've lived next to the store for going on ten years now and they simply are the best. Jane and Yelena are the rare shop owners who have developed a genuine rapport with their neighbors and community. I bought a little something for my nephew the other day. Thanks Jane - he loves it!! :)

I've loved Jane's ExChange since day one. The original two owners was kind, warm and bussiness savvy.I would stop in sometimes just to say To Hi to Eva that would be a hight light in my day.It was always a pleasure to shop at Eva prior location and present.I noticed right before covid the store had a different feel to it. I Took some of my grandchildren clothes they had never worn.The new lady took my items but was very dismissive. I recently returned and was shocked at how cluttered the front and interior was. I asked about Eva I was told she retired, But still one of the three owners.That was Obvious by the appearance and feel of the shop. I asked about my return on my items .she seemed unclear what happened to them.she then said I won't charge u for the bag that your purchasing ,the bag was 8.00.I agreed because my family and I have loved Eva and Jane for over 25 yrs.more than anything I miss the care Eva showed for myself and others.Her smile and warm heart made shopping a joy.some days I would stop in just because.
