Small rooms but the room was very clean. Friendly staff, would stay here again

The hotel just didn't get 5 stars because my room had a significant amount of noise coming from the street (not the hotel's fault) Besides that, staff is very kind and helpful, recently renovation is good and beds are comfy. As other reviews mention, rooms are small but think that it's a good value for money despite that. Would recommend for a short stay.

The experience we've had here with staff and room has been far above expectations. We traveled for a loss in the family and the staff have gone above and beyond. One lady, Victoria, helped my mom to the room (she is in a wheelchair and oxygen) my mother arrived first. The staff helped her to her room, unloaded all our luggage and put it easily accessible to my mom. She was given coffee and told to rest. When I arrived, the staff didn't want to disturb my mom so she walked me up and let me in so my mom didn't have to get up. Michael was amazing, kind generous and helpful. The manager here runs an amazing team and I'd give this place 10 starts if i could. We've been here more than a week and they are still just as kind. The rooms are small, but very nice, clean and right in the theater district and 300 feet from the famous NYC apple. Location is great. I will continue to stay here anytime I come to NYC. You definitely won't be disappointed here!

WOW! I spoke with Victoria at the front desk and she helped me book a room(It was a better rate to call them directly too) and let her know that my mother and grandmother are there and needed a room ASAP! She got the room booked very quickly and also about 2-3 hours before actual check in and she let them come immediately which was very helpful. My grandma was the first to arrive at the hotel. She is on oxygen and has a hard time walking. Victoria could tell she was a little shaken/upset when getting there and Victoria hugged her and made sure that my grandma was okay! WOW that seriously blew me at how sweet she was to my grandma! Victoria then helped her to the room with all of her stuff and made sure she was good and comfortable. Victoria then came down and called me to let me know that she had arrived safe and in the room comfortable! To see and have an employee like Victoria , that has instantly giving me trust in her to take care of my Grandma while she is there has just BLOWN me away. I wish I could personally find an employee as attentive, respectful, and and well caring as Victoria! Hotel Shocard is VERY lucky to have her as an employee!
