American Fireplace & Chimney Sweep Service

Called American Fireplace with an emergency situation. The owner Frank came out immediately. He was professional, kind, and worked very clean. This situation turned out to be a bigger issue than anticipated and have to say he was very fair with what he charged. He was recommended to me from a friend who had been extremely happy with his service. I totally agree with her assessment. Thank you again Frank!!!

Absolutely terrible. My parents had talked to Frank before I had the chance and had explained that the liner needed to be replaced before he'd even come to the house he said he'd come on Monday. Then I had finally got ahold of him, reiterated that I needed the liner of the chimney to be replaced, again said he'd be here by Monday. Sunday he called and said he'd be right over, which was great! We were going to finally have hot water. Frank shows up to the house said he absolutely needed to take a look. I thought it was strange no one else had showed up with him considering we knew he needed to change the liner. He then comes up and tells me that he has to charge me $120 for an "inspection fee" keeps asking to talk to my husband or my father about what's going on. And I asked him doesn't the liner just need to be changed? He said yes but he doesn't have a lift so he can't do it and he'd like to speak to either my husband or my father in order to tell them what's going on with the house. The house that is in MY name. He then proceeds to go out to his can talk on the phone for about 5 minutes come back in and charge me. Then he goes back out and I can see him calling somebody else turns out it's my mother. He then proceeds to continuously ask for "her husband" in order to tell him what's going on with MY house. He again says that the liner needs to be changed with we already know and had told him before he got here. Had I known how absolutely sexist and completely useless he was going to be we never would have used him or his company. So yes thank you for completely wasting my time! And doing absolutely nothing to fix the problem that we knew exactly what was going on with!! 10 out of 10 would NOT recommend unless you want a useless inspection fee for absolutely nothing.

Very professional, courteous, expedient, and thorough! They went above and beyond, even with a already booked schedule that day! They addressed the problem, cleaned up, made the repair, and explained in detail what was done, and gave options for maintenance at a later day. Frank has serviced my wood burning stove, fireplace and chimneys for more than 30 years and he is exceptional! Not only is Frank reliable, he is extremely professional and spends time explaining what he is going to do and he is explicit with the costs involved. I have had Frank clean my wood burning stove and chimney every year and he does an extraordinary job......plus he always is respectful of my home and wears protective coverings on his feet (and during the pandemic he comes wearing a mask) and he leaves the job immaculate. I cannot say enough for his work product, especially since I am self-employed and value people, who like Frank, form a professional relationship with the customers he services and prioritizes the needs of the customer.
