        We ordered the individual chicken pot pies and the Moravian pies as part of my daughter's preschool fundraiser. Tonight we 'had' the chicken pot pies. It was flavorless, dry, and had hardly any vegetables. I'm assuming the chicken is fresh, but it honestly reminded me of canned chicken in texture. I looked at the reviews before we placed our order and from what I read, these are the best 'home made' pot pies in the area. We were super excited to try them. I'm very disappointed and out the $$ with only a portion being donated to the school. I don't expect the Moravian pies to be any better, but I will save that review for another night. Next time, I'll just write the check directly to the school and skip the disappointment.

        I was just given a Moravian chicken pie from a friend and it went immediately in the trash after seeing the deceptive marketing of "scratch-made, homestyle food" vs the nutritional label showing 32g of trans fat per pie, mainly made with palm oil. I'd rather protect my heart than please my taste buds.

        My children have done this fundraiser more than once. It's extremely difficult to get people excited about just 6 products. There needs to be more variety if all the schools and teams are going to use this fundraiser.

Our team is working hard at Mrs. Pumpkin’s nearly every day to produce our chicken pies from scratch throughout our handmade process, using locally sourced all white meat chicken. While we put a lot of thoughtfulness, diligence, and care into producing our chicken pies, we certainly do recognize that our chicken pies are not for everyone.If you would be willing to give us a call at 336-924-9797, we would like to discuss a couple of options that will hopefully let us have another chance at being a brand your family enjoys around the dinner table.

      Thank you for your review. We always appreciate the opportunity to talk to customers about our company. One quick note, our company tagline is “Scratch made. Veteran owned.” First, let’s talk about the scratch made. Every one of the over 200,000 chicken pies we make each year are hand made from scratch by our hardworking staff at Mrs. Pumpkin’s. Now the veteran owned. Our company is owned by two veterans of the United States Marine Corps. Finally, we would like to point out that there is a difference between quality (i.e, scratch made) and nutritional content. It is also important to note that we do not make any health related claims about our products. While palm shortening may not align with your nutritional preferences, we have tested various ingredients over the years and the use of palm shortening has helped us perfect our pie crust, resulting in demand for Mrs. Pumpkin’s throughout the Carolinas and beyond.

      Hi Christopher, Thanks for the review! While we do hear occasional requests to expand our fundraising menu, it would be difficult to do so at this time, and adequately support the more than 300 groups we partner with every year. We have built and tailored our fundraising menu to carefully reflect the items that we are best known for in the community, and that our fundraising partners have the most success selling. Hopefully we will be able to expand our menu in the future as we continue to grow, but we don't have any concrete plans or timing as of now.
