Kelly Inn on Main Avenue

This is the worst place I have ever stayed. I usually don't care about hotels because I just use them to sleep and don't stay in them to do anything. I expect something clean and nice. Pulled up to this place. I wasn't sure this was the hotel I booked, as the pictures on the website were totally different. The website made it look like a really nice hotel with nice wooden features. This place looks like an abandoned glass warehouse or factory. The flags hanging on the pole are dirty, torn, and worn out. We were in a supposedly "remodeled" room. If it was remodeled, I wonder what they remodeled. I took pictures I wish I could share in the review to show viewers how dirty, nasty, and how the room was literally falling apart. The floor was dirty, with massive stains, dirt and grime. The chair for the desk was just as dirty as the floor. Discolorations just like the floor. It looks like someone spilled coffee or something on the chair, and random, weird indentations in the fabric of the chair. There were grey, yellow, black, and brown spots on that chair too. The room leaked. Water came in from around the door that was to the outdoors. Which of course we couldn't use because they were "remodeling" the hotel. Mold was growing in the room and it created a nasty smell. Don't turn on the AC or you'll see a bunch of dust and mold/mildew spew out from the AC and make the smell worse. No, you don't get a fancy thermostat with a temperature gauge. We got a unit that had broken plastic on it. I tried to use the ironing machine and the ironing board. The machine looks like it was never cleaned. There was hair stuck on it and stickers like someone tried to iron stickers to clothes 15 years ago but because of use and age the stickers are a permanent part of the ironing machine. Used the "remodeled" shower. I got the temperature just right, not too hot, not too cold and used the switch to make it come out of the shower head. That didn't work well. When the water started to come out of the head, the entire unit burst from the wall. Now it's sticking out and loose. Then there's the TV. At least it works and it's in high definition. Good luck using the channel guide they printed out. It's all wrong. AMC was actually Fox Sports, Cartoon Network was CNN, Comedy Central was Fox News, and so on. After we checked in we went out to get some food, when we came back our keys were deactivated. We had to walk all the way around the hotel to the front desk to get our keys reactivated. The lamp fixtures by the bed are just as poor. It suddenly stopped working and you had to tap on the lap fixture to reconnect the wiring to get it to turn on. Breakfast was just as bad. 1/2 the utilities were broken. 2 waffle machines. One has a sign that says "DO NOT USE, BROKEN". The milk dispenser has only one working hose. Why would you put out a broken waffle maker anyway? I paid just over $100 for this sorry P.O.S. place. I've paid less money for much better hotels. Ones that didn't have mold or mildew. Or stains on the floor, or broken showers. Or that leaked. STAY AWAY.

While our room was a bit dingey.. the place as a whole was pretty awesome. They have an indoor and an outdoor pool available to guests. The outdoor area is absolutely beautiful. A nice sitting area, gazebo, and beautiful pool.
