I first came into Swamp Dogs about a year ago after a friend told me about the place. I originally came in to check out their selection of DBZ guitars. Both Russ and Artie were more than willing to allow me to check out the guitars and play them. I had been playing guitar for years, but had never made the plunge when it came to purchasing a top of the line guitar. Well, that was soon to change. While I was looking at the DBZ guitars, Artie pointed out the Angry Angus Surly, but I was never a huge fan of the Strat design. I acknowledged it and continued checking out the DBZ guitars. I was really digging the Mondial and Imperial when Artie put the Angry Angus in the guitar stand and said, "Just try it.' I plugged it in and hit the open E on the top and was blown away. Never had I played a guitar with that much sustain and resonance. It was powerful. I was hooked immediately. I sat there and played that thing for at least a couple of hours. They never rushed me or pressured me. Well, needless to say that I bought that guitar. I was so blown away by that guitar that I stopped playing the other 25 or so that I already had in my collection. So, I sold off almost all of them. I then purchased an Angry Angus Testy (their Tele design) and it was better than any American made Fender Telecaster I'd ever played. I found myself hanging out at Swamp Dogs quite often. I had Artie do some set ups for me; and his work was always exceptional, and the prices were always reasonable. In addition to the Angry Angus guitars, they also introduced me to the Campbell American line of guitars. Once again, the quality is just exceptional. Prior to being introduced to Campbell American guitars, I had longed for a Gibson Les Paul Traditional. However, after playing a Campbell American, I was amazed by the superior workmanship and overall quality of the guitar. So, I chose to purchase my first Campbell American; and have long since given up on the notion of a Gibson Les Paul. The Campbell Americans are far superior. I now have several Campbell Americans and Angry Angus guitars. I must say that I am hooked. I have had Artie do a number of setups for me along with modifications of older guitars that I had. His work is excellent. Russ has always been a pleasure to work with. I've sold him a number of guitars, amps, and other associated gear. He was always fair. I've also purchased a number of amps and other equipment. They've always been very helpful with helping me to "chase down that tone." I highly recommend that anyone seeking to purchase a guitar, equipment, or have any work done to check out Swamp Dogs.

I've been going to Swampdogs for years, and I have only ever received A+ service from the staff. They are extremely knowledgeable and personable, and they strive to help you find exactly what you need. Also, they have the most interesting stock in town. From one-of-a-kind exquisitely handcrafted guitars to previously owned entry-level Fender Strats, and all the name brand picks, strings, cords, and straps you could shake a stick at, Swampdogs has everything you could want. AND they do repairs! I don't trust anyone but Artie with my guitars. Stop in and have a look around, you won't be sorry. TOP NOTCH!!!

I found out about Swampdogs a few months ago. They have your standard guitars, picks, cables, etc like other music stores i've been to, but then they also have a lot of great used gear like pedals and amps and do repairs and setups. I used to have another place i took my amps to for repairs, but gave them a try a few weeks ago. Turnaround time was about 10 days, the fee was pretty affordable, and the quality of the repair was excellent. Swampdogs is pretty much the only shop i use now.
