    They did me right 18 yrs ago. I found a PO slip under my carpet during a sewer line replacement. Rich Montgomery installed some beautiful carpet for me in 2001. I remember him calling it a nice hunk of rug. And poking fun at me for installing such a rug in my Southside home. It was beautiful, even after 18yrs. I was told there wasn't anything compareable on the market any more and was so unimpressed with Flooring America's job I thought I would poke around the internet. I learned a whole lot about Mr. Gattis pizza and LDBrinkman. The supplier of Sears Ultra carpet from SW 44 and western years ago. I remember they called to check (Sears) if I was happy with install the next day....way back in 2001. And when I said "yes!" The guy said "you are?"...".hummmm?" He sounded surprised and puzzled. Then said "ok! Goodbye!" Click. Guess he expected them to screw it up, Maybe? He was an independent installer, blue collar. They normally use their own vehicles and work for themselves. Not a salesman persona. I don't mind, since I was a trades person myself who worked in shipyards with sailors most my life. Rich handled and delivered my expensive product like it was his own. He cleaned up after tearing up old carpet, before putting mine in. And offered to wait if i wanted to lay down any home theater wires first. He also cleaned up afterwards. I had just installed a huge central a/c unit and enjoyed a cool 65 thermastat setting in July. He turned this over to heat and opened all the doors. "For a better stretch, and professional install". This is hard work in a uncomfortable environment for ME. Hell yeah! I was happy with my install. This man did me right! His phone etiquette may be rough...hell I'm pretty grouchy when I spend the day in 100 degree heat myself. But his work is excellent and attention to detail spot on. Probably even more second nature or muscle memory today...with 18 more yrs of experience under his belt. I wish I'd checked into this slip before using company my insurance suggested. I hadn't realized how spoiled I was by install experience before until I was treated so bad 2nd remodeling with company I mentioned above. But alas Sears isn't the same either and out of the carpet business.

    First off, they made an appointment for between 0900-1100. The measurer called up at 1102 according to the call log and proceeded to tell me that my clock was wrong. When I told him that since I heard nothing from him, and I needed to go back to work since I took the morning off waiting on him, he told me that according to his clock, he still had time before 1100. His attitude was very belligerent and was not customer friendly. I called up and canceled my order to have them install my carpet. I understand that I am not the only one in Oklahoma City that probably has an order with them but I was trained all my life that if I was 10 min early, I was already 20 min late. Calling up after 1100 and telling me that he was running late and then telling me that I was wrong about the time that is showing on clock, my phone and my dashboard clock, leaving me with the impression that I was the one wrong in this conversation is not the way I do business. Calling up at 1030 and telling me he is running late would have been the right answer - you know you are running late by that time.
