Very satisfied with their service. I dropped off tax papers with them, set an appointment for a few days later and when we came back, we reviewed the return and we were done. Everyone was very nice and they even had some nice gifts for us. Most important, they were professional and they got us a nice return. We will be going back again next year.

This place is under new management, and boy, does it show. The staff was knowledgable, super-friendly, and I appreciated their ethical attitude. The fee seemed fair and my refund was bigger than I thought it was going to be.

I will never go back to Liberty Tax based upon my experience at this River Road location again, for two reasons.
1. They are misleading customers by telling them they do not have to pay anything unless we choose to use their services to file with them. The consultation fee is free.
2. At least three different people had their hands in my taxes.
Those are the basics, here are my justifications;
When I called to make the appointment, I asked what the average cost was to file taxes for someone who had basic itemization's and nothing more. They told me they tally it at the end and it is based on how many forms they had to fill out. I had talked to several of my friends with similar tax situations like mine, and based on what they pay for professional tax services, I assumed mine would be in the range of $200-250.
We have been there four times, I have had numerous phone calls over the past two and a half weeks. To start, the owner input my tax information. I had to call back a week later as I never heard from anyone in that time, to find that they were done. Four phone calls in one day, with me arguing with one of the ladies there regarding the fact that I would prefer to talk to the person who did the work, rather than “any of us can help you finish these,” I finally got the meeting back with the same person to review and sign off on the taxes. This is after the fact that other people called me to ask questions over and over, I brought in extra paperwork they requested and apparently didn’t need, because it was finally handed back to me one of the times I was there.
I reviewed my taxes with the owner on the fourth visit, and then was told the bill would be $436.50. I was shocked. I asked again if I had to pay anything unless I filed with Liberty Tax, she said no I did not. Told her I would go home and figure out how to re budget to pay. I ended up coming back the next day, explaining this was the first time I’d ever had my taxes professionally done and naively thought it would cost about half that. I asked for my taxes back, apologized and said I would have to file them myself. The owner proceeds to tell me I would have to pay a fee for her time. WRONG! The argument ensued at that point, ten minutes later we settled on $250.00 for the years filing. I went out to get my phone so I could transfer money out of savings to pay my fee. In that time, the owner left and must have said something to the lady left working, because she was crying when I walked back in.
Now today, March 12th, a week after I paid to have taxes filed. My husband went in today to pick up our packet, as we’d received a voicemail stating they were ready several days earlier. The lady working the front desk could not find them. I call after he left, ten minutes on the phone later, she finds them and now there is yet another form we have to sign. I have to go again, bringing the number of times we’ve been there to 6.
They are disorganized, they do not communicate with each other, or I wouldn’t have had the multiple phone calls asking the same thing and missing paperwork. I don’t appreciate being misled regarding a consultation/time fee that is apparently there, but not advertised and lied about. I would have gladly paid for it, had I known it existed in the first place. For these reasons, I will never go there again.
This is on top of the fact that while I was there on two visits, there were people literally screaming at the front desk person for various reasons they were unhappy with. That maybe should have been a marker and I should have known better. Not because of the unhappy customers, but because it felt unsafe.
