This business fell on hard times in July 2022 and it's customers were understanding for months. However, Philadelphia Salvage has failed to notify of its customers, failed to answer emails or calls for months, and failed to return thousands of dollars that it has kept for unfinished work. Philadelphia Salvage and Chris Stock continue to ignore customer requests for information, and continue to retain hefty deposits from outstanding work. By my calculations, this company owes over $20,000 to customers, many for over a year. It's offers no timeline for when it's customers may expect their finished product or refunds, instead posting empty apologies on Facebook.

We'd really like to get our project finished but haven't heard from anyone since June. No one answers the phone, emails have gone unanswered, just wondering what's up.

We purchased a door in December for Philadelphia Salvage to rehab and paid the deposit. They were on a backlog and told us there would be a delay. We last heard in June, when our project was 4th in line. We have heard nothing since every email has gone unanswered. I would like to know what is happening with my door or have my (not insignificant) payment refunded.

I have had good luck at this place, hence the four stars. I am commenting on the reclaimed wood yard. I have built many floating floors and I know wood qualities and prices. I came there today to see if I could finish up a small job. I would be fine paying the $5 square foot price, (for comparison, I bought brand-new select grade unfinished maple at that same price this fallonline resale), if the wood wasnt so problematic. The tongue and groove bundles I saw are packaged such that each bundle has a few pieces of unwork-able wood (ie. grooves broken, edges snapped), so you are kind of picking through the bundles and accepting that two of the five pieces you are buying are not useful. And yes, I could cut them down into small workable squares, but again, at that price, why would I? Lumber Liquidators has short pieces that arent in bad shape. The bundles were pushing the limits of salable product, very used, dirt ground in such that much sanding would have to happen. Again, might even have bought it to salvage if the price didnt feel gouge-y. There is a lot of wood in that lumber yard that may be nicer but youd never be able to find it, the mountains are 10 feet high. I guess I walk into this place hoping its for regular people looking to DIY, and save a few bucks, and its really for well-off people who want to feel good about reuse and also have lots of help
