I had a slip & fall injury. I liked the lawyer that I met with at Mrs. Pearce's firm and the personal, individualized service she promised. She left the firm shortly after I signed on and my case was handed over to a recent graduate who told me his specialty was affirmative action. Communication was spotty, the receptionist was supercilious, and in the end, the firm did everything possible to avoid having to take my case to court. Once Edith scheduled a time to speak with me over the phone. Not more than a couple of minutes into it, she said she got a call from her son's school. She dismissed herself and never called back (not that day, nor for weeks later). This "talk" had been scheduled weeks in advance. I am considerate of others' time and not a "needy" client but when I had immediate questions, I could not get an answer. I also had to send and resend paperwork as some got lost. The office asked me to tally up all of my medical costs on top of sending them every single receipt (I was going to do it anyway but I'd think they would do this themselves as well). After preparing them all, they told me that they were inadmissable (due to living overseas, but they knew that from the outset). At my deposition, Bill Ringland seemed more interested in chumming up the senior attorney for the grocery chain (Fresh Grocer) than in representing me. Bill was no match for him. (Incidentally, I had previously consulted with the defendant's law firm for this case and they had failed to notify me that Fresh Grocer was their client. Based on this, I should have been able to have their representation dismissed but that didn't happen.) In an effort to prevent going to court, Bill even told me that a judge was going to refer my case to arbitration; when I asked to speak to the judge that Bill told me would do this, the judge said that he was not in a position to do this. I was then living overseas. The final straw was when Bill and Edith told me that my court date - if I insisted on going to court - was on-call and I'd have to wait around Philadelphia for a month or more to see if and when I'd be called up. I'm pretty sure they could have worked with the court to accommodate my situation but they were unwilling. Basically "my" firm threw up every possible roadblock in order to get me to settle and not have my day in court. In the end, I knew I couldn't fight alone anymore. Pearce firm got their 1/3 off the top, then paid off expenses, and I ended up with enough to pay off the accumulated out-of-pocket treatment costs (I was without medical insurance when I was injured). Better than nothing but not a just settlement. I received nothing for pain & suffering, lost time, reduced capacity for work or for future treatments. All said, I think the service I got was pretty typical. Lawyers will look for the fastest, easiest route to their payout. If it is worth their extra time to go to court, they'll do it; sometimes they would rather do less work and get the quicker payout, regardless of whether it is in the best interest of their client. Bill and Edith are likable people but don't think for a second that they will work for you anymore than serves their best interest.

They good I just don't like the simple fact that you have to leave a message to get in contact with a lawyer every time you call so that's the one thing I have a problem with him but besides that I think it's not no problem

Nicole was my lawyer and I absolutely adore her! She helped me get through physical therapy after my back and shoulder injury. She always responded in a timely manner and was very informative throughout the process. I am more than pleased with my settlement and I 100% recommend Pearce Law Firm for Personal Injury and Accident Claims.
