Extra Locksmith

I stopped by at 2:30pm on a Sat to get a key made, and they were closed. Somebody should update their hours online, since it is obviously wrong. :(

I lost my car key on Saturday night on a mountain bike ride. I called Extra Locksmith, and their Technician, Barry, showed up at the trailhead within an hour. Barry was incredibly nice, and he clearly knew what he was doing. He quickly made me two new keys at a very fair price. All things considered, my experience with Extra Locksmith couldn't have been better.

I hate to leave negative reviews, but haven't had this bad of service in awhile. I Called about 2 weeks ago to get two new car keys programed. After Hours service answered, took my information and then about 3 minutes later someone from the company called me. So far so good. He got all the information and let me know someone was local on another job and could get to us that very night, probably around 8pm. If they couldn't they would call. We waited around for hours for no one to show up or call. I called back yesterday to get someone again chalking it up to a random incident. Same process, After Hours service and then the same person on the phone. He said he saw where I called in and apologized and said he would have that technician call me right away. Again, waited all evening and still no call. Don't say you're going to take care of me if you're not going to. Just say you're busy and we should be able to in a day or two and I would have been fine. Instead I waited two separate days and now I'll be going with someone else.

I sent my son, a college freshmen, into the shop with a blank key to be copied. Another locksmith quoted me $2 for this service. Extra Locksmith charged $50. My son, not knowing this was way overpriced, paid it and told me the next day. They did not tell him ahead of time that they charge such a high price. I called the shop and verified that indeed they charge $50 for this simple service. The owner, Skyler, admitted they charged such a high price because sometimes customer provided keys can be made of cheap metal that can cause $50 of damage to his machine. He offered to refund $25 if I didn't leave a bad review. He insisted that his employees would have verified the price ahead of time, which they did not. He then went on to be very unprofessional and even insulted my son. I choose not to accept his insult or the $25.
