Non-chain small restaurant in a strip mall in Des Moines. We were there about 8:30AM on a Monday morning. There were only 2 tables occupied and they told us to sit anywhere. There only seemed to be two people running the place, one in the front and one cooking. Coffee and glasses of water came out quickly and we ordered the meat lovers scramble and another scramble (don't remember which). Both came out in a reasonable time. Lots of cheese and meat on both. I had English muffins and my wife had biscuits and she said they were very good. Prices were about as expected and the service was attentive and efficient. The only negative was the atmosphere. It is very brightly lit and rather cold decor, sort of like a cafeteria in a bus station.

I'm a breakfast 24/7 and local "dive" person and Jack's fit the bill to a tee! One test is properly cooked eggs over medium, they hit a home run. Growing up in Texas - country fried steak also another test - again, did not disappoint. The service was exceptional and I'm honestly looking forward to returning again and again. I ordered the country skillet with French toast. Everything was really good. Service was fast and did not have to wait to be seated! Will definitely be coming back!
